21st or BBI needs to a Band of Brothers figure set w/ a C-47

Post by ww2collecter » Wed Mar 02, 2005 8:39 pm

Who would be up for that  Put me down for a set.
Any chances of one of those companies pulling that off. How cool would it be to have a group of 101st standing in front of a D-Day C-47 be!! All in 1:18
Oh Well, I can be hopefull

There was a post from a while back concerning a C-47/DC-3 kit that was close to 1:18...

well 21st had a mini dio with a group of airborne....it made me get 10 Rupperts to sort of copy what they did. yeah it's not the 101st but they have all the gear and stuff. it was a nice set up..just gotta do some head swapping....

and if you missed out on the Rupperts, BBI is going to do some like him..too bad they didn't wise up and do 101st. but to me the set up represents "Airborne"!

"high 'ol silver" !!
It is the dang toy companies that have sometimes made me want to stop collecting toys!!!

Did you know that Private Wilson's arms work perfectly on Private Ruppert to make a 101st in jump gear? The color of the uniforms are the same. Just use the boil and pop to separate left arms of both figures and swap forearms/hands with the upper arms, so you still have the altimeter. You only need to do that with left. Unless you want the rank and flag covered on the right. If so, you only need to change the heads on the right. I have 12 101st in jump gear doing this.

I'd go for that. I was with two Easy Company vets and a member of the Filthy thirteen in Basogne when we saw an XD figure (Mansfield) in the gift shop at the museum. We presented it to Jack as he was a Pathfinder. All 3 vets got a kick out of the figure, looking at all the detail. Guthie has a figure done by BBI I believe, and im told there's a Winters figure coming out but both are large scale. It would be nice to have a set like that. i love the XD figures but the facial expressions are silly.

There's a license I'd love to see someone get the rights to do. Maybe 21st is already after it. Sideshow Toy seems to have no problems getting the rights to all kinds of movie and tv themes. Dreamworks might be tough on WWII though, remember the Hasbro / Saving Private Ryan Tom Hanks never panned out. Dreamworks got cold feet and pulled the plug :(

I am quite certain that it is not a lack of desire to do the figures. I am also certain it is not a lack of desire for us to own some Band of Brothers figures. It is all about the licence. The Band of Brothers franchise seem pretty locked down.
