New Bruno Bauer Prone Head Sculpt Rocks!

Post by grunt1 » Thu Apr 24, 2008 1:57 pm

I know we were excited about the new legs that allow the troops to crouch, but the additional head sculpt they included allows them to go PRONE! :D

It's the extra head sculpt that comes with the new Bauer rifleman. Doesn't seem like much but it allows any XD guy to go prone (and look right).

That adjustable head/neck sculpt that came out a while ago was close, but this is the real deal.

I haven't tried a sniper yet, but I imaging it would work well. Even on a modern figure.

That's cool! Still no new figures in the west, however :?

At this point 21st is almost giving you two complete figures in a package... Yeesh! As neat as it is, I'm a fan of articulation over pre-posed. The legs are my only preferred pre-posed parts right now (for artillery especially), but I do like the efforts... Just hope it doesn't mean they someday start nixing articulation altogether though.

I'm buyin' toys here, not statues. ;)

It is a nice sculpt :)
Now it needs to be made in the "non suntan version" .
You know, I bet if 21st C made a bunch of new head sculpts and sold them in sets, they would be a hit, cause not only will folks buy them, but they'd also buy more figures as well to build Armies, Like I've and others have done 8) Da General

Grunt, thanks for the heads up. This figure is a must have.
General, we've been asking for Head sets for years now. I don't know why 21 hasn't made then. Verlinden makes 2 set...1 with hats/helmets and the other without. Being 1:15th/1:16th scale their to large for XD.

Ya, head sculpts only would be nice, but for now, I gotta run around and find other 1/18ish toy figures and modify the heads after removing them to use. I mean, there's only so much you can do to modify the 21st and BBI heads  Perhaps(if I can find the time) if I post a picture of the WHOLE German army I have, it might help to show that some of us really collect in large numbers. Well then again, perhaps not :? Da General

Great pics Grunt. Very cool feature.
Honestly if/when we get prone legs I really can't ask for more from the figure articulation. Between the static and articulated limbs we are slowly covering all combat positions. Very cool. For $5 this guy is really a steal imo.

3 Q's.

Has any 1 seen or hard anything about the new US troops?
And do the new US troops come with the same head position?
grunt1 those figures in post 1 are those 21st or FOV figures?

Thanks

You know, there is another good reason for the new head.
It'd be good for modeling a figure like he got shot in the back or in the head when kneeling or standing. Just thought of that one  Da General
