1:18 female figure

Post by dandaman » Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:35 pm

Ok, if 21st Century or some other company had to make a 1:18 scale female figure, what would it be?

The only thing I can think of would be a female VC with conical hat.

Figures like WACs would not sell. They would be peg warmers for sure.

So what else?

There is a site I found that sells 1:18 female figs, but they are modern. Maybe some customizing potential however. I've never ordered anything from them so I don't vouch for the site. Maybe someone here has ordered from them and can give us all a lowdown on the figs.

The original figs had funky leg articulation. I've only seen them in person, but not bought any. However, the new figures are nicer - they remind me of PTE's figures. Somewhat decent articulation. Not bad for what they are.

There are always the bikini babes meant for automobile dioramas.

Somehow I don't think they would work out with my XD, although they might be popular with the XD troops. :D

i can vouch for the new spylounge figures
leg articulation is much improved and they come with new headsculpts,

they sell a base green figure and some black spandex figures,
with some webgear and acurate weapons they are good bases for female figures

I have one of the original spylounge figures, and will probably get some of the new ones. Their service was great the first time so I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

That's awsome. I've been thinking about ordering some of them for a while now. 8) Thier prices seem rather resonable as well. Thanks guys!

I would suggest a set and/or a series of women of war that includes:

1- VC female
2- Russian sniper female
3- Nurse WWII & NAM (china beach style) female
4- Wacs
5- modern female
6- female pilot
7- female reporter....

and any others...it would be something different.

I'm all about mixing female figures into the line sporadically, but keep in mind they're traditionally poor sellers at retail regardless of the line... I have little doubt that trend would carry over. I have no real idea why other than little kids enjoy the heroic male character over the woman, but whatever.

Just remember female figures could be the equivalent of tankers, Jeep Drivers, or Patton. :x

I have thought of making a couple Female Gestapo officers ;)
THey were quite abundant with some in uniform. Figured I could get one of those SW female officers 2 pay and chop the heads off and go from there, but how do you modify the - how do I say it, upper body area to look female :o :) :P Oh well, I guess if there's a will, there's a way  8) Da General
