1:18 Kyushu J7W3a Shinden night attack/radar picket aircraft

Something I found while thumbing through last month's edition of Koku-Fan magazine. This was on the magazine's back cover...

Apparently, this is not for sale to the general public, but built for museum display.

I've been a subscriber to Koku-Fan (koku is Japanese for aircraft/airplane) for some 23 years now...I use it as a handy reference for present-day and historic aircraft, and it helps my rusty Japanese character reading skills...

Here's the cover shot for February's edition:

Let's see Fw-190 fuse put on backwards . Me 109 wing with extra rake . Landing gear from a Spitfire. Prop from a Mustang thined down. This could be done

This a cool looking plane though. If there was a kit for it.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

Man! I would really like one of those. You can be sure that will never be made.

I don't know if you all would be interested but Hasagawa makes this plane in 1/48th scale and it is available through Squadron.com. I built mine years ago as I thought it was pretty neat. There's some good photo's of the finished model in Google.

Greetings

As stupid as this will sound, I could actually see this aircraft being made because it is a smaller size. I really think the future of 1/18 scale may lie in the production of smaller aircraft just due to the package size and the cost. Just a thought.

I would buy one for sure. The thing is these really cool more obscure planes aren't likely to be built because they don't think they would sell enough-perhaps they're right. I know alot of airplane enthusiasts hunger for more obscure models.
