Simple B-25 question

Post by Sabrefan » Tue Jan 08, 2008 9:56 am

Do you think we will see the 21st Century B-25 by this summer?

Or the Bush Avenger, "the most anticipated release of 2006" (quote from 21st)...

I think at least a year before we see the B-25...

Yes we will see it real soon! 21st is going back to model building's beginnings for a low sum of $89.95 you will get a few hunks of wood just remove the parts that don't belong on a B-25 and well you have one! easy peasy :P
Could not think of anything to put here.

Stupid question.... Is this B-25 going to be 1/18th? or 1/32? Just wanted to make sure...I know this is the 1/18th section, but just wanted to double check.

In my dreams it will be out. I think this was baiting by 21st to try and snuff the competition.
With that being said, I sincerely hope they prove me wrong. I would certainly by a 5th and 15th AF scheme.

Blah blah blah.

21st had graced us with the much anticipated quad trailer, and now you're begging for a B-25? SHEESH!

<end>

Probably not ever. Hell, they had a prototype of an A-10 to show the public, but that plane never got released.

All 21st had to show for a B-25 is a snazzy announcement with colorful graphics. So no.

Anyone still longing for these magnificent 1/18th planes and feel so deprived of that you can no longer function in society? Yeap, I now wake up every morning crying because the said plane vanished into thin air as the dream die; that's how bad it is.

Would we get 1/18th planes faster if they limited production and hiked up the price?

No B-25s. I hope I'm wrong. The E-tailers I have talked to don't think so either.
I think it would be difficult to keep the wings from sagging without some metal or resin reinforcement.

WOW!

Post by Folkwulfe » Tue Jan 08, 2008 5:09 pm

I did this once before....but I just HAD to go back and remind myself. In 1/18th scale, the B-25J Mitchell measures out like this:

Span: 44.6 inches
Length: 34 inches
Height: 10.6 inches

WOW! Guess it will be time to re-enforce the ceiling with support beams before trying to hang this one up!#$%&*()....ya think?

If the Avenger wings are any indication, you are most certainly right...

Should 21c even be working on this beast, I hope they are taking the time to do it well. The Avenger, for example, is a great plane, but there was much more 21c could have done to improve it - namely with the wings. Not only will the wings on the B-25 need extra support, but the landing gear will need strengthening as well. I'd like to hope that we'll see something by Christmas '08, but I'm not holding my breath and have more important things to worry about

I wish I am wrong but with 21st it's a case of "where there's smoke, their isnt actually a fire" - especially if the "smoke" was just a picture of some other fire and not actually their own.

I believe the development of this plane hinges upon their future with WM in 1/18. If they can continue with their low profit/high volume cash cow retailer this will give them the leverage to make this work. If not, I think it will be an albatross for them. Not because they don't care but because they can't justify the costs involved.

And no, I don't think WM will ever put this on their shelves. E-tailers and specialty shops only.

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
