NYC Toy Fair

Post by Threetoughtrucks » Thu Feb 10, 2005 6:05 pm

Just received a toy trade publication with a 21c full page add. Shows interesting stuff for '05, I haven't seen before.

1:6 - M1045 HMMWV Tow Missle Carrier

1:18 - ME 262
M-151 Mutt with Tow Missle Launcher

They also mention a line of ride on vehicles for kids.

I believe this is a "trade only" show. Do we have anybody going with the proper passes??

I'll try to get a current catalog on CD (like last year) & will share.

Glad to hear something about the ME-262! Also whats with the ride-on vehicles? Too many complaints to 21c from parents cause their kids ignored the warning on the box and tried to ride their 1:18 scale airplane?

My toy person says it may be a larger than 1:6 and designed for kids to ride on. He says there was a prototype of this "big" ride on toy at last years Toy Fair. My source is not a military vehicle toy fan so he may be wrong although he knows my 1:6 Stuart and says it was larger? I'm not sure he is correct. He'll check this year. The 21c add says "a new line of ride-on toys starting with a HMMVW and something called a "International 7300 CXT" .

l'll take anything they 21C brings out.

Yup!

I'll be there covering the event for www.ringofcollectors.com.

I still need to get ahold of 21C to schedule a showroom appt. with them (should be doing so today), but we'll be seeing both bbi and Dusty Trail on Sunday (2/20). We'll do our best to get info and pics online ASAP.

Good recon on the fan site. This past week has been an intelligence bombshell regarding 21st Century Toys and their intentions. Can't wait for more info.

BTW - The Sky Captain P-40s are shipping in April, per the 21st website.

Jeff:

The contact from 21c is susposed to be Shawn Battershall.

They will be at Booth 5647 (a sizable area blocked out of the main floor).

I won't be there but my own personal reps will be there for two days. If they don't get me the info, they know they won't be coming back to Staten Island.

I was asked to remove the number for Shawn Battershall (by him). He asks that people go through the sales dept. if you want to set up an appt. for toy fair.

I provided the number for Jeff, who will be attending. On second thought I realize I should have provided that phone number on PM. I guess the guy was buried by a lot of people calling and asking "Where is the Zero? or the B-25? or Black Widow or King Tiger or M-3 Grant or a million others."

I apologize to Shawn and the board.

Just a little update.

Turns out I will not be attending Toy Fair after all, for a variety of reasons. But, a team of folks from RoC is still going to be there, and I've passed along the 21C info to them. So, you all should still see coverage there. I'll be sure to post here when it's up.

Wish I could be bringing you firsthand info, but it just wasn't in the cards for this year.

Best,
Jeff

Just noticed on that list the Mutt with TOW Launcher. That is interesting, since I completely missed that when it was released before until they had sold out. Definitely can't wait for that!

I will be out of town until the last day of the Fair. I was offered a pass for that day but it belongs to a lady. I just didn't want to try to enter with a woman's name on my jacket.

I'm a fun guy, but not that funny.

I'll try to have my people get what info then can.

I may be going if the wife lets me. I would like to meet Mike Cordero in person since I speak to him often via phone and e-mail. If they let me I would like to take some pics. I only live about 35 miles from the show.
I hope that my tax number and past invoices from 21st C gets me in.

HEY TRUCKS

Whatever it takes to accomplish the mission trooper! If that means you wear a skirt, by god your gonna wear a skirt!

And try some blush, your cheeks are kinda pale, and not those shoes, they clash........

Now get in there and get us some intel!

And if that fails, make one of your kids do it. Tell him it builds character.

By chance did you catch the news on the minivan that rolled down a hill (everyone survived) in Colorado? The rescue squad in that small community had an old Dodge Ambulance painted bright orange, with Rescue in big white letters on the side. Looked very well maintained. Nice to see those old trucks soldiering on.

I thought about it..........not long, but I did think about it.

I think I've got it covered, I'm on a plane in a couple of hours to sunny climes, so I'm out of the picture.

My guys are LoR people and if they can tear themselves away from wizzards and hobbits then I'll have at least some intel. They got me the complete catalog last year that I sent to Ski for posting. They understand our needs as they are in my house almost every day, sitting around and under our toys.

Have faith..
