and another thing.. I'm going to direct deposit for payday this friday, I've got my last carefree anonymous 100.00 bill in my wallet-- and already have the 1st stuka, winter, and meditteraenean one- would ya get the rudel one?? The overall paint scheme looks an awful lot like the first issue..

convince me, please...

Agree. I'm sure it's only a matter of time as this seems to be the pattern.

The Rudel Stuka may look like the S1 Stuka but the yellow band and wing tips indicate Russian front, where the Stuka really was in it's element, for the first few years of the war in Russia anyway, against the inferior Red air force. Stukas did untold damage to ground targets. Also, this Stuka was flown by Rudel, who is one of the most famous pilots of all time and whose feats were literally too incredible to be true, but they were true.

Dang it. The Dublin, CA Tru got a restock of 1:18 planes, but it was 4 P-40s again. I was hoping for a variety pack. Oh well.

Stopped in to TRU today and was a bit surprised to find an 101st Operation Market Garden figure "Corporal Hilarie" hanging on the pegs! Leave No Man Behind! So I had to buy him, you know!
Weird! Deja-Vu!

Saw a case of the new figures at WM here in the Pittsburgh area... Only one seems to have them that I frequent, but that's something. Got a .30 cal guy and it's cool to see they all have new headsculpts too. Sharp figures, especially the .30 cal guy...

I left the others due to cash at the time but may run out and get what was left if it's still there. All the Americans are great. The German is too but he's nothing too exciting.

You Nor Cal guys always get the new stuff quiclky at your TRUs  I think you had the AVG P-40s, for example, a month or two before they were put out 100 miles to the south of you. But at least they are across the country instead of backloged in the midwest as usual 8) I'd be tempted to get one of you to send one down to me, but then as soon as I do that, the planes will show in my area. Then again...

Plano, TX TRU is closing(moving to Allen) with 20%-40% off everything. Still had same stuff as before sale. Next week it will hopefully be 30%-60% off. 21st Century stuff was 20% off.

Stopped by a couple TRUs on a road trip down to Southern California. The TRU in Bakersfield Ca had AVG P-40s and the re-released BoB and Op. Market Garden figures. The TRU in Lyons, CA had a few Stuka-zu-Fuss vehicles and AVG P-40s. No "Rudel" Stukas at either store, which was what I was hoping to find. Have to wonder why the three TRUs closest to me cannot get anything like this

TRU

Post by normandy » Sat Sep 13, 2008 6:37 am

I was at a TRU Thurs. that I hadn't been to in some time and they had 2 Stuka zu Fuss half tracks. The last time I saw one was when they first came out and only saw (1). So I bought it. They also had the US S2 Camo half track.

The 21st warehouse inventory dump continues at the Dublin, CA Tru. Just rec'd:

1 F-104 Smoke
1 F-104 Really George
1 P-51 Flying Undertaker
1 P-51 Ridge Runner

And there's still 1 Special Edition P-40 left. All the Rudel Stukas from last week are gone.

Also rec'd a new stock of 3 BBI Daisy Corsairs.

Dang, was hoping for a Seeman 109. Hopefully that will follow soon.

most of those have petered out by now with only a mig-15 here and there, PH p-40s commonplace, and the batch of four rudels now down to three; after a month at one tru; no rush for me waiting on a commission check...

The two TRUs in Fresno - as well as the one in Visalia to name another "local" store since TRUs are few and far between in Central California - have dropped to only a few 1:18 planes as well. The stores once had the "Seeman" Bf-109s, the "Tuskeegee" P-51s but not for a while now. The AVG P-40s were the newest 1:18 items that came in six months, and the disappeared quickly... Even the TRUs I visited this weekend in Southern California did not have much different selections than discussed above.

The Dublin, CA store, based on VVs and Imeww2's reports, ALWAYS seems to get in the best selection of products in the state. I'd like to know why Dublin is more special than Clovis in the eyes of the distribution system, but there may be no logic there... Just the fact that you got the Rudel Stukas says something

The XD does move pretty fast at this store, maybe that's why. But, who really knows the logic of XD distribution?! Pure luck, maybe.

Probably have more XD collectors besides myself and VV in that area than others. Just a thought.

My Toys R Us just got in a few cases of XD figures from the past. I picked up General Patton (Tunisia) and a few Winter Germans. All the cards have a 2002 date on them.
