new 21C mustang online

Post by digger » Wed Mar 08, 2006 8:41 pm

There is a demand for Mustangs and I think its only going to get bigger once 21st gets their Mustangs out to the general public.
I see you can now get the new 21C Mustang online if you can't find it at WM.

Stoped at Wm in rockaway NJ yesterday. They have the RC 1/18th PanzerV and 2 of the 113s in woodland camo. Sold out the 1/18th Japanese that they had a week ago.

I came home from the office tonight and plugged back into my home office to check e-mail. So why am I telling you guys this?

Because I had a message from 21st Century Toys, not exactly unusual for me though.

So what has me so pumped!? The e-mail was from the CEO of 21st Century Toys! He explained how very busy they are and how the focus has been on new product development.

I have some quick updates that I will be happy to share in the morning. There is too much to type, it has been a long day and now I am going to get some sleep. Tomorrow is a new day, or you could say a NEW YEAR as far as military toys goes! I have news... See you guys tomorrow!

Thought you guys might be interested to know the following… (long read but it is worth it) -sorry.

I traded e-mails tonight (last night) with none other than the CEO of 21st Century Toys. He thanked me for the efforts of AREA-21 and wanted to share some insights on new products that are underway at 21st Century Toys. The feeling from 21st was that the timing is now right to share some of these details with fans on this forum. Official AREA-21 articles will follow up in the weeks to come as details, and photographs begin to surface.

Some of our quick conversation is still “classified” but there were assurances that in due time fans would learn more about what is exactly in store for 06 and early 07. I was most pleased to hear about several items… Some of which have been in development as early concepts from years ago and were put back into re-development last year so as to meet or exceed current customer expectations.

Some of you will be surprised or not be surprised to learn that the 1:18 scale Me-262 from 21st Century Toys has a green light. Some fans might speculate that this is a reaction to recent industry announcements. I assure you it isn't. The facts were explained to me that the Me-262 has been a under a veil of production secrecy for the better part of a year now. The Me-262 was always going to be a "must do" project for 21st. Fans can look forward to this new product with complete confidence as tooling patterns have already been ordered. Currently the Me-262 is scheduled for a late summer 06 release date. There are many other cool secrets surrounding the 262 project, aspects which I am not allowed to share at this time. But rest assured the 21st Me-262 will meet or exceed current standards and is packed with all new features, the mold has been designed in such a way as to endure a long life span with future releases.

There was figure news as well. I was told that there are over a dozen ALL NEW 1:18 scale action figures in development as we speak. 21st declined to reveal what theater or era they would exactly be. All I was told was that WWII Europe would most certainly be part of the mix. More news is promised to become available in future months.

Avenger, who wants one anyway?… Just kidding! Would it be good news to know that they are less than 4 weeks away from being “on the water”? The day is soon upon us gentlemen, the day that the Mighty Avenger is part of our personal air force! What a great follow up to the NEW 1:18 scale P-51 Mustangs which have already begun to ship this week! Fly boys should be happy!

Which brings us to another favorite itch that needs to be scratched! The 1:18 scale F-86, Mig-15 tandem projects… Where are they now? Soon, I am told we will be shown the first pictures of these awesome aircraft!

So there it is… the “short list” of items I have been allowed crack the door on so far. This information is current and correct as it comes from the very top at 21st Century Toys.

As a fan and fellow collector I must say I am impressed with 21st Century Toys and would like to say thanks for not only trail blazing this hobby. But turning out many of the awesome products we all enjoy. Here is to a great and exciting collecting year. Stay tuned to AREA-21 for more detailed information as it becomes available

Good to know the Avenger is so close! I want to know more about the ME-262, and timeframes for the F-86 & Mig.

 Armor...that's a good one... tell me that one about the armor again...

But at least new figures are in the works. It will be hard to forgive if the ETO guys are not Brits but I don't think I could stay mad at Germans 8)

Thanks for the update Zach!

Great :? This time of year bites at my local Walmarts for trying to find new stuff. It usually lasts until May. Add to that a shelf full of Sahara figures and I'm not too optimistic.

Dang it, I need some German tankers!!!!!!! :x
