Yes Jackson, I don't even like to look at your picture of your ME262 sitting on the driveway. :(

G'day all

The package was my Me 262 and I have already unpacked and assembled it, I am happy to report all parts where present and accounted for. There are no QC issues with the nose gear a little stiff but that’s better than being too loose. However I do have one minor QC issue in regards to the right hand main gear, in that there is a pretty bad buckle. So much so that when you try to roll the aircraft forward or backward the tire jams up against the main gear strut.

Jason I have had a look to see if I can determine what is the cause of this buckle and I have concluded that it is either a bent axle (most likely) or the hole in the wheel hub is warped (less likely).

Do you have any clues as to how this component is constructed so I can try to correct the error myself, as I'm not sure your customer service department can reach all the way down here to Australia and it was purchased through Bad Cat on my behalf by a friend Stateside.

If you are more comfortable corresponding with me by PM about this just let me know.

Other than the above my first impressions are very positive.
SPUD

So I decided it was not the whole figure just his head and hands that I was not like, so I swapped the head of a Stuka gunner and the hands/gloves from a Battle of the bulge German soldier. He fits in the cockpit nicely. I think when I find the head of the Stuka pilot that I have around here I swap out heads again. What you guys think would be best? Either way I don’t think he looks bad.

That pilot looks pretty good! I've been using a 21c FW-190 pilot with the same Stuka Gunner head. As aferg said, I think either of the two Stuka crew heads would work quite well. The advantage of the head you're using now is that it works for both in-flight and ground displays (since a pilot generally wouldn't wear his goggles when not in flight.)

Jason, I hope you are just kidding about not having a pilot...The pilot for the ME-262 was not that bad...We [board members] are just too picky about things. I would think that most people that buy your aircraft would like the Pilot.

You're very correct, I would gladly pay more for both.

Frankly I don't see what's wrong with the 262 pilot - he looks to have similar articulation etc.. to the 21C Sabre pilot and there have been no complaints about him. I understand if they leave pilots out though if they are a significant cost of time and money and they just draw criticism.

So what's with the bulges on the gun bay doors? I can't find a picture of these anywhere. The recon ships had bulges but they were much larger.

Edit: Well I stand corrected. All of the drawings I have show them, they apparently just don't show up in any photos. Weird.

I think the figure is, for the most part fine--yes, I had to remove his helmet and scalp him slightly to close the canopy (I did supply a liberal dose of brandy before I began). But other than that, I think he looks fine. I buy the for vehicle for he vehicle's sake, not the accompanying figure. As long as the figure is pretty accurate from a historical perspective, I could care less if he is crosseyed with braces (ok, that is pushing it, but you get my point). If we are specifically trying to show a historical person, that is another issue, but to be honest--I want someone to put in the cockpit/driver's seat. If I want to customize them after the fact, then I will. And to Admiral's credit--they made an awesome plane that has the place of honor in my office at work. And for that, I offer a huge "thank you Jason and team!"

Jason of Admiral Toys wrote: the first few paint schemes for the ME 262 will be of 262 A-1a fighters. It is a safe bet that next year we will modify the molds to produce an A-1a/Jabo. We did not want holes on our models that did not have such ordinance. Therefore the fighter versions are produced first and then the Jabo.

Ha, when I put the dora guy in, I had to shave a quarter inch off his butt. Still looks good from the outside though.
