Checked another store, about 10, all tan. Also they are all full price, $40. SW MO is saturated with them.

None have strangely shown up on ebay yet. Usually, no matter where new items appear, there is always some enterprising fellow that sells the new item just as its being released for 2-3 times what its worth. I only bring forth this observation because I WANT PICTURES and a product description!

I'm with you tmanthegreat. I've been anxiously awaiting them to show up on ebay as well, so that I can finally see it in the box. Hopefully soon.

i wonder why it's not diecast like the recent Motorworks tank reissues? Didn't we see at the Feb Toy Fair an all silver M113 which we assumed meant that it would be diecast.

I wonder if there is some diecast but because the APC is smaller than the tiger and sherman it just feels lighter and thus doesn't feel like it's diecast.

Seems an odd reversal, given that the diecast vehicles appear to be quite popular.

A diecast M113 would be more difficult to back date to a Vietnam era M113 then a plastic version would be. Unless the fuel tanks on the back and the ID marker on the side are cast seperately.

I have to agree with another board member who said it's likely a manufacturer gave them a great deal on diecast, and that was what "New Millenium Toys" was all about. None of the M113s we saw looked diecast, so I bet they're not. I wonder if WM will get all 3 paint schemes or if one will be small retailers only. As of yet we've only had recon of tan, right? It's my fav so I don't mind but this is interesting.
That Panzer IV looked plastic and I sure hope it's at WM - I will knock over old women and small children for that one.....

Is the M113 21st or New Millenium?

Since the toy gods have smiled on us once again with the arrival of the
M-113,can the rerelease of the Viet Nam figures be a possibilty? I know a
lot of you Modern day vehicle collectors must be jumping for joy. :)

yea the toy show had some pics of a possible realease of vietnam fidgures modeled after characters from the movie Platoon. i would definatly pick up a lot of these. now heres a question from someone who doesnt know, but wouldnt the M113 cost a lot more if it was diecast as opposed to plastic? itjust seems like it would be, anyone confirm this thought?

ok, thats what i thought, ok so while diecast would definatly be cooler, plastic keeps the price down for all of us, hell i'm just happy thier making and releasing some new/nam era armor.

The die cast tiger at wal mart was cheaper than the original plastic tiger at TRU.

Yeah, I remember getting the S1 Tiger at TRU for $49.99, IIRC. Seems so long ago now.....

With exception of the side flap pic on the boxes, they are the same as the Bradley/Sherman boxes. They have the "New Millenium Toys" logo and the 2 pictured on the back are the Bradley and Sherman. Found more today at another store, around 8 or so, all full price. Last "cheap" XD around here was some $15 Shermans I found in Overland Park, KS about 6 months ago.

vmf214, what city are you finding the M113 in? You mentioned Overland Park so I figure you must be close to south KC where I am.

Broken Arrow Wal-Mart has these. They are 40 bucks, and they include two figures; both are in 1960s-70s fatigues and one is bare headed while the other has a CVC helmet molded on his head. The figures are by far the worst 21st has ever perpetrated, but they are not the reason to buy the thing.

The hull is die-cast metal. The rear outboard sponsons which mark this issue so prominently as a modern APC are easily removed, as are all of the stowage peices. This means that you can backdate this thing to Nam fairly easily, with only repainting and a few holes to fill to get there. I am sure there are smaller things to change but these were the biggies for me. There are 7 opening hatches; back ramp, hatch inset in back ramp, rear upper deck hatch, driver and commander's hatches, and a two-stage engine compartment hatch. The engine seems small for the compartment, but there is some detail there. The fording panel or whatever that thing is on top of the front sloped facet of the hull is hinged as well. The toy seems bigger than it should be for 1/18 scale, but I am not an expert on M-113s. The interior is not painted white, it is OD. I will fix this when I backdate one to Nam status. The store had the tan and tan camo versions.

Do you have a SKU# for them? Also you say there is a tan camo version?
Thank you

Is the SKU number the number on the receipt after the name of the item?
Yes, it looked like tan and tan with green camo were the finish choices.

Here are the dimesnions of the real beast, if you want to measure the model and see if it's 1/18 or not.

Length 191.5" >>>>> 10.6 inches in 1/18
Width 105.75" >>>>> 5.8 inches in 1/18
