Not sure where you will be in LA - but I just picked up a few from the Anaheim Walmart (off the 5 Freeway and Eaclid I believe). They rang up for only $20. There were at least 10 left - stacked up high in the generic section.

Alright gentlemen, the first of what I plan to be many of my M113s has arrived and needless to say I'm giddy. I waited about 2 years for this day and now it's here.

This thing has been hauling us for about 40 yrs and is a pillar of the US military, though bearing less of a load these days. Who will volunteer their email addy for me to send some pics to? Thanks.

just thought id show a few more angles and also those horride figures!

and of course...(why did it take 6 pages of posts to get this)...

sku # 8 74292 00314 4

got mine at the Foothill Ranch,CA Wally world and i still hate walmart but got a nice surprise when they rang up as a Panther Tank - at $6!!! after all this time collecting...and finally it happens to little o me:) needless to say i picked up the 4 they had (but 1 was broken - you can see the bad glue job in the pics).

tmanthegreat already posted a pretty accurate review of it.

why do all the crappy figures come out with armor and the flyboys dont have any problems??? what do they have different departments there at 21st?..and it seems only the modern armor..hmm

anyway ill be looking to trade or sell the extras i got to any SoCal members first (just to avoid shipping hassels) so look for my post in the traders area.

nice to see another diecast modern armor piece. now i hope bbi puts out their modern tanker as a carded fig!!!

First let me thank Teamski for putting up my pics - much appreciated.
Second let me agree with the above and say the figures are terrible. The number one problem is that 21c was obviously trying to make these guys serviceable for both modern and VN and the result was two completely lost figures that belong in neither era. They do however have great articulation, but are just so flimsy and rubbery that they're ultimately a joke.

Much of the plastic is flimsy too, and you can see how thin the rear door and ramp are. The fuel cells on the back are removable which is nice, although they are a different shade which is not. That said, 6 bucks for one is possibly the best XD deal ever - even better than the $1 AA hueys.

Now this Panther thing is interesting - we must be getting one from WM if they keep scanning as a Panther.

M113 help...

Post by Bravo_26 » Sat Nov 13, 2004 10:49 am

How is a $20.00 & a $6.00 M113, or for that matter a $1 AA Huey possible? This can't simply be a price input error, can it? I have never had the fortune of getting anything here locally for less than full rip, ie $39.98. We still have Winter Shermans for $40.00 & I still have yet to see, or get a "camo" AH1 Cobra. They simply have never been here.

Can anyone please capture a couple of "mismarked" M113's for me?

Cash or trades, your choice.

My sincerest thanks!

Any discounted prices you see usually isn't a mistake. The manager is responsible for those markdowns. Some people are fortunate in having managers who want to keep stock moving- fast. I've see here $10 Nam Hueys, $7 Bradleys, $20 Cobras, and missed out on $1 CIA Hueys. I've been rather fortunate. Now if I can get a brace of WWII stuff, I would be in great shape......

I can see what you mean Digger. The guy on the left can pass for a 'Nam-era grunt. However, the right seems to've what looks like a present-day body armor painted over in a paint scheme similar to those used in Vietnam.[/code]

I can't figure why the figures with the modern armour releases are so crap....it's the same with the Cobra too. Even the solo carded modern figures aren't very good. Either someone at 21c is trying to sabotage the modern line or they think they're going after GI Joe type people with these psuedo-right figures. Bewildering.

I kind of like the Cobra "Pilot," he has some this:

but I agree the articulation is poor on him.

thanks markecho for the great pics of the figures and the vehicle, but i dont think that everyone should be so down on the figures, yea they arent that great but the one looks like a generic soldier, if i could just get some of these as single figures that would be fantastic, so if there is anyone who doesnt want them i'll gladly take them off our hands, for a fari price/trade of course, also it seems that the desert scheme is the only one being found, has anyone seen these in straight OD green or modern camo paint jobs?

I have finally seen a couple of the M113's in metro Kansas City. They were all full price and sand coleored. Are all the once being found at WM sand colored or has there been a variety of colors found?

every report has been for sand coloured M113's to this point. Looks like the other ones will be online retailer versions or later offerings at WM.

I have only seen these in the Salt Lake Valley, in Utah. Until today when I saw 3 of them at the Price Utah (a couple hours south east of Salt Lake) WalMart. And surprisingly they were marked down to 20 bucks!
And again, all three were desert painted.

I'd bet the green one is right around the corner. These will likely be like the Razorback fiasco this time last year. Still surprisingly these aren't plastered all over ebay, wonder why...

M113 SIGHTINGS

Post by graycap » Sat Nov 20, 2004 9:32 am

I'm visiting the US from the UK on business next week and I am hoping to try and pick up a M113.

Does anyone have the SKU or any other ref under which Wallmart hold this item?

Any assistance gratefully appreciated.

He said the green ones and I trust he would have said NATO or woodland camo if it were the other. I will confirm though.
