I'm sure we'll eventually see more German and American figures. However, I think it was a clever decision made by someone somewhere to include only the German figures in the first wave of new 21c stuff at TRU. Many stores (at least the one's I've visited in California) still had plenty of the BBI WWII figures, which are all US soldiers. Those nicely compliment the 21c Germans, especially the Otto figures.

Also, anyone notice how the majority of the items new to TRU are German tanks, planes, and soldiers? TRU may be trying to rectify their earlier "political correctness"

Indeed I did. I think they finally realized that the German stuff sells and it has nothing to do with idolizing Nazi's or some BS, it's because they had some cool ass looking vehicles, weapons, gear, etc.

The German figures sold like hotcakes at all of the WalMarts in my AO while there are still scores of Americans on the pegs. I hope we see repaints of all the German and American figures!

Yep, Walmart has repaints of the US Tank Commander and Driver (Harras). The jackets are more tan and the pants greener like HBT's. I also noticed the tool handles are a lighter shade of brown. Didn't get them as I didn't care for the colors and have enough tank crewman!

Hmm I'd like to see repaints of the non-tanker US figures. For some reason TRU stuck their 1:32 aircraft way down the aisle from the rest of the 21st items, so I apparently missed them before. They had the 262 and Bullfrog. I picked up Bullfrog just for something different. Nice plane, looks real mean and ugly and it's Tex Hill so that makes it all good!

Now I really want the Polish squadron RAF Mustang already!! 8)

Ottos!

Post by digger » Fri Aug 10, 2007 5:59 pm

Finally snagged a couple of S2 Otto's at TRU today. There were 8 21C figs literally hidden behind Sigma 6 and Elite Operations cheap stuff. Otto II is awesome, and I have already carved the belt off one to give him some Dragon kit and an MP44 (I love the soft rubber and easy head swap). 8)

Questions:

What is the TRU case loadout? 4 of each Otto and the 2 DAK or are other Germans in the mix?

Why have the pieces of kit separate from the sack if they can only each go in one hole - that doesn't add playability, just makes for pieces that fall off or get lost.

Where does the entrenching tool go once you use the two holes for the sack?

TRU here is still loaded up with about 4 Pak 40 Hanomags, 4 OD Fireflys, 2 each of the DAK XD figs, 1-2 Otto's, 2 sets of each 1:32 figure pack and a bunch of the itsy bitsy dogfight packs and 1:48 armor.

As for aircraft 2 of the new me-262's and 2 Bullfrogs. Well 1 because I bought the other. :P I hope we see some more S2 figures and the other new aircraft soon!

I noticed the new DAK infantry figure's eyes have too much white giving him a bugeyed look.

The XD guys or 32x? My two XD DAK are fine but I did notice bigtime bug eyes on the 32x DAK which made me not buy them.

Whites on eyes are more noticable on some figures than others. At least with those that I have.

Tons and tons of DAK and Otto's in my TRU. Quite a few Pak-Hanomags and a bunch of the 32x Fireflys. There were four full pegs of 32x Italians and Dak. One each of the 32x ME-262 and Bullfrog.

The part I was happy about was they are finally carrying the 1:72 FOV aircraft, vehicles and figure sets. I snagged the Dragon Wagon and the Blackhawk. Both are spectacular and I highly recommend the Dragon wagon even if you don't collcet 1:72! now I just need a tank to put on it!

No Otto's at all at TRU today. Plenty of DAK figures so someone must have snatched them all up. Otto is one popular guy! I did finally find the 25th GI Joe Cobra Commander, Cobra officer and Snake Eyes.

TRU over here had a 1:32 P-51, 1:32 Sherman Fireflies, 1:32 German and Italian Infantry and some cool new FOV 1:32 Tanks and 1:72 planes, like the Hurricane and Corsairs

All the TRUs finds indicate the same amount of the same stuff was put out on the shelves several weeks ago- Has anyone seen any new stock put out at their local TRU?
