The quad .50 and the same mount with twin .50's were the only trailer mounted weapons I am aware of. Mortars (81mm and 4.2") could have been carried in the trailers but were never fired from the trailers. Both thos mortars were usually carried inside 3/4 ton trucks....not to fire from only to transport the weapons. Some half-track models carry mortars that did fire from the half-track, and the same half-track did tow one of these ammo trailers for extra ammo supplies.
This trailer was basically an ammo carrier for anything big in caliber or like the quad mounts that called for nassive amounts of ammo.
These trailers that the 21C was based on were heavy duty in the extreme.
These quad weapons systems were used extensively in WW2, Korea and VN. In WW2 it was used against planes and for ground support. In Korea, it was used for ground meat chopping although triple A units did have them to protect airfields but were not used. In VN, due to the lack of a VC airforce,, the quad was used only against ground forces.....

Huh?
Is Roy sending you info directly (awesome if so!) or did I miss a posting where this was announced?Tanker85 wrote:I will continue to update this post as news arrives. This just in from Roy S. 12 NEW figures this year. Excellent
Are we sure these 12 new figs don't overlap with the Platoon figs or is this in addition to those?
Well, great news whatever the case. As a general trend the figures from all companies have only gotten better over the years (we do not speak of the M113 crew or the Royal Marine from 21C...what dark days those were! It was like their yet-to-be-produced Avenger came to life and bombed their figure-making factories back into the stone age!!).
Actually, the M113 crew was tolerable. But boy that Royal Marine...what a sad, sad affair.
Just reporting the news from other threads>>>
Hi Guys,
I have read with interest the reactions to our new 1/18th M17 Trailer with Quadmount and was surprised to see the news met with some frustration and disappointment. For the last few years, new 1/18th scale armor (and by armor, I mean as a general category, as opposed to airplanes) releases have been few and far between, but that has changed! In the last 6 months or so, we have released the following new items:
Sdkfz 251/7 Pioneerpanzerwagen
Sdkfz 251 Stuka Zu Fuss
M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage
7.5cm Pak 40 cannon
…As well as 17 NEW figures in the D-Day lineup.
Coming over the next few months are:
Sdkfz 251/22 w/Pak 40
King Tiger
88mm Flak 36/37
M17 Trailer w/Maxon Quadmount
…And at least 12 NEW figures.
There has never been a time when there was more new 1/18th scale “Armor” product being released. As far as I can tell, we are the only ones in recent times to bring out actual vehicles and support equipment to support the 1/18th scale figures. An Army is not comprised only of main battle tanks. There is a huge range of weapons and equipment. We are trying to bring you a good selection to help with your diorama building and play possibilities. The M17 is far from a boring piece. The Maxon mount in the M17 trailer was used with deadly effect against enemy troops at many famous engagements, including the Bridge at Remagen. Four 50 caliber Browning M2s could produce a withering concentration of destructive force. They were also used extensively to shoot down those hated airplanes that seem to be the bane of the ground based collectors! And we certainly understand that you guys want main battle tanks, but we can only ship what the stores order. Its up to you guys to let the retailers know you want tanks!
Your patience will soon be rewarded with new armor releases hitting the shelves. We should be seeing revised test shots of the new Flak 36/37 soon. I must tell you that I reviewed the first shots when I was in Hong Kong last month, and this one will rock your world. It is by far the most detailed and functional piece we have done to date. The King Tiger is BIG, very nicely detailed, and will be available at a reasonable price. There are a number of other new armor (Yes ARMOR in the classic sense of the word) projects in the works, and at least 12 (maybe more) new figures will also be hitting the shelves before the end of the year.
As I see it, it is a Golden Age for 1/18th scale military collectors. Then again, my opinion may not be completely unbiased!
Happy collecting! Roy

I'm a bit surprised there haven't been a few conversions of the M113 APC - a nice easy-to-manufacture box on tracks that has been used for almost every AFV role under the sun except for Main Battle Tank... Mortar carrier, Command Post, Band-aid, TOW carrier and so on.
Plus the basic 113 chassis and drivetrain form the motive power for the MRLS and a few other tracked vehicles too, although those would require a fairly major ( ) re-work of the upper "half" of the mould.
So far I've seen a green one and a yellow one. (Oh, and a radio-controlled version as well, but I'm not counting that as a static display model like all the others...)
Does anyone know why they aren't making the modern 'armour' any more?

Like BadCat noted for the F4--it's time to start funding the clandestine Paypal account now, $15-20 at a timetkjaer21 wrote:For all of this stuff to suddanly come out at once, it will be a little disapointing as the wife will notice a large amount of purchases in such a short time.

I agree that all things announced will not come out this year. There is a proven track record of delays and setbacks. However, it still is very exciting to look at the prospects coming sooner or later and dream of the unannounced items to come.... I have been collecting since 2001 and I always look forward to whats coming our way!!!!
These are the items that I have been able to compile from discussions from the Toy show. This is not all inclusive so any add ons are ok. These are the main brands that I collect, so may not be up to date with other new offerings. This list does not include repaints of which there will be numerous offerings. I have tried to include the current status of these items or any info related to that item....
