Sweet, sounds like here in the southwest(OK, TX, LA) we are starting to get the 1:18 stuff.
Last night found the 1st Canadian Tiger stripe F-104 at a WM here in north Dallas! Will be picking that one up on Friday to add to my collections!

Saw an F-104 and one of the Pearl Harbor P-40's (#160) in the Walmart in Lancaster SC yesterday. Mom, that P-40 followed me home. Can I keep it?

Found two of the Lt. Welch Pearl Harbor P40's at the Raymore/Belton Walmart this morning. Picked one up but was disappointed that they didn't have Lt Taylor's P40 . Went to a local hobby shop, Hobby Haven in Overland Park Ks. next and found the desert ME-109 E marked down to $39.99. Felt better about not finding the other P40 afterwards. lol

Planes finally have showed up at my local WM. Both Pearl Hs as well as the Tiger and new silver 104s. Too bad I already have them all and the the 104 came from e-tailers :? Had I not have gotten them from the e-tailers they would have never had shone up. Such is life.

Yes, I've learned the hard way - buy when you see it, you can always unload it later if you want to.

Wow! One of the 2 Huffs at my local WM finally disappeared, after only 8 weeks. One more to go, and maybe they will put out something new? Of course, I also recall some Flying Undertakers and F-104's that disappeared in July only to reappear out of nowhere for Christmas. So how knows--the missing one may magically reappear in December.

Other than that, all 1/18 is gone. Just a few 1/6 weapons packs, a big stack of 1/32 Bf-109s (about 6 left, down from about 16 a while back), a busted 1/32 DAK Panzer, and a mix of 1/48 2 packs and 1/144 planes. Very exciting Makes me glad that our hobby enjoys a steady flow of new items

A new Wal Mart supercenter opened up in a community near mine (within the 20-mile radius to be considered "in my AO") so I went to go have a look at what they had as far as 21c products were concerned... The new store currently has one of the best selections in my AO 8)

1:18 -- "Huff" F-86, 2nd Wave D-Day/DAK figures
1:32 -- Carded Russians, Japanese, Mortar pits & Pak-40 sets; Mortar pit & vehicle playsets, Winter Bf-109Fs, Zeros, last year's King Tiger, Panzer IV, DAK Panzer III, and Sherman repaints.
1:48 -- P-51B/Cs, Panzer IV tanks
the newest vehicle assortment and aircraft

It kind of made my day to walk into a WM and find the toy section in perfect order with lots of current offerings :D I wonder how long it will stay that way

P-51 big beautiful dolls, a couple, in Atlanta-

A 30-second review here; a smudge here or there, red paint looking a little too much pink-(like the 1st BBD), occasional paint running in the surface lines- will the landing gear covers want to fall down constantly? (like the ridge runner). The props are straight(er).

Is it an impulse buy for my hard-earned 40.00? Not this time. I'll put it on my list of available repaints to possibly buy-among them the Lavin 104 and the Russian mig. Maybe these will be clearanced soon.

I am coming home on vacation. I checked out the Warner Robins, GA WM and they had:
No 1/18 figs
A Canadian F-104 in orange (really looked cool)
Another F-104 in some kind of SAC colors (high on a shelf and couldn't see it well)
3 Pearl Harbor P-40s
Some Migs
Chinese Mig
Couple other planes up on shelves.

BBD? Man, you guys in the east are lucky! I've only seen the F-104s in my area, plus the occasional Huff F-86, but I'm counting my blessings

We are a little farther south and kind of in the center . Lucky ? No way, they always forget us in in the deep Gulf south. This must be a freak. We don't ever get anything down here. I think that this load of XD was destend for up north some were and the truck driver got lost. :? But it is GREAT news. :D

Here is one for ya--

I saw a P-51 box this am high on shelf at walmart; I notice a blue cowling on it and bring it down. It is marked Lou IV on cowl AND it is of the first model design (fat wings that clip on midway out from fusilage). It is in the current box with pictures of avenger, f-104 on back. No olive drab on wings like the early 1/32nd offering.

WHERE did this come from????????????
