What new WWII aircraft do we hope to be made next?

Post by VMF115 » Thu Mar 08, 2007 9:36 am

I hopeing to see a p-39, hurricane, tempest, or a Japanese fighter.

What do you guys want to see in the era of WWII A/C?

I know I would like to see some retooling for highly detailed aircraft like that Corgi 1:18 spitfire that was at the toy fair last month.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Much needed

Post by longrifle » Thu Mar 08, 2007 10:26 am

Im still waiting for a Mosquito, and now that a B-25 has been announced and a much rumored ME-110, I dont see now why we wouldnt see a Hurricane. When I saw the P-38 released, I thought for sure we would get a mosquito, so its long over due.Its certainly a much prettier plane than any of those----I would also like to see:

Hurricane mk.I (BoB)
Mk.V or IX Spitfire
FW-190 A
Zero
Tyhoon (bubbletop)
Something Russian---Yak or Mig--or even a Sturmovick (sp?)

Jets:
Mig-17 and most of all a (MIG-21 my most wanted 1/18 aircraft)
F-4

I too am surprised we have not seen a Mossie from 21st, which would be awesome.

Although I prefer PTO, a Me 110 would be an awesome release.

An Ki-43 Oscar or a Ki-61 Tony to go up against the Hellcat, and other PTO planes.

A P-39 Airacobra would be high on my list of future purchase's, and would fill the much ask for Russian advisary.

I want the Douglas A-20 Havoc/DB-7 Boston/P-70.
There would be many paint schemes for it and the primary country schemes would be UK, USA, Russia, & France.

Especially the Nightfighter P-70 version. Can you see it?

This one is a tie for me. Either a P-39 Airacobra, or an F4F/FM2 Wilcat. :D

I would like them to make the HE-OMGWTFLOLBBQ-262.

It's a relatively unknown Luftwaffe plane that didn't really make it past the design concept.

A Heinkel engineer named Otto von Pooper came up with the HE-OMGWTFLOLBBQ-262 design while sitting on a toilet and while passing the time (among other things), he doodled on a piece of tissue paper this GREAT next scourge of Allied bombers.

Sadly, the possibly GREATEST German fighter was never made, when a P-51 Mustang made a strafing run on the building where Otto was humming along, wishing he hadn't eaten that bratwurst that smelled kinda funny last night....

But yes, more Luftwaffe!!!

I think there is one retailer around here who really wants the Tempest done.

I am waiting on the
P-39
Typhoon &
Me 163 Komet

Of course, there is a litany of others I would like to see. But as far as single engine craft go, these three are my big wants.

I'm glad I'm no longer appear to be the solitary voice calling for the A20 Boston/Havoc.

Well I think you may be forgetting that Australia was also major user of this type (well maybe major is a little extreme but at least 78 of them) in the PTO. The RAAF operated the Boston MkI (A20A) and Boston MkIII (A20C) both modified to MkIV (A20D) standard which was up gunned and had glass nose painted over, the RAAF also operated the Boston Mk IV (A20G) as well.

You’re in luck as the RAAF operated Mossies in the PTO.

Well, if you are goin to throw twin engine into the mix, the
A-20
Mossie
B-26 &
P-61
Do 335
are my next picks. Again, they too could be followed up with a litany.

I love these threads! If I were to chose only one single engine WWII aircraft it would be the P-39 Airacobra. For twin engine aircraft it would have to be the P-61 Black Widow. Now for the rest, or at least some from the major players.

Germany:

1. FW-190A
2. ME-110
3. ME-109Z

Japan:

1. KI-84
2. KI-61
3. A6M2-N Rufe

Russian:

1. IL-2
2. LA-7
3. Mig-3

United Kingdom:

1. Hurricane
2. Tempest
3. Westland Whirlwind

United States:

1. P-39 Airacobra
2. P-61 Balck Widow
3. P-63 King Cobra

Without a doubt in my mind it should be the P-61 BlackWidow. Would'nt mind a P-39 or a F4F Wildcat either.

Aircobra---I thought I was the only person on here who had feelings for a Westland Whirlwind. It was a very sharp looking plane.

I'd love to see a P-40E or later but I doubt we will. An Airacobra, Wildcat or Black Widow would be cool as well. The Hawker Sea Fury, a beautiful plane that served well in Korea would be a nice British aircraft even though its technically post-WWII
