I was jokeing about the B-29 and 52 :P but it would be nice to have them someday. The A-10 is a realitivly simple plane in design the ordanance would be were the money is. The size and compleity would put it on par with the Avenger. So for $140 I do not think that this would be a option. For a customer to shell out $140 it would have to be a very well known plane that everybody should recognize.Almost everybody who has heard or had an interest in WW2 has heard of Jimmy Dolittle.
The B-25 is large of simple design except for the twin rudders and has so much paint schemes it will make your head spin. My money to the sum of $140 will be on the B-25 :D

Many have quessed the SR71 or the F117....but how could "they" skip over the obvious F4 or F14 and go directly to the ultra modern (I know, the SR71 is retired, for now)? There are soooo many candidates to bring into production without the Stealth-types, first.

I can only hope it's an A-10 although I don't think an A-10 would cost that much.

Even if it is that price, I'm still buying multiples if it is an A-10....... :D

I am thinking that this 140.00 plane might come from AT.

I don't have the foggiest :? ....and can't even wager a guess. But I sure am courious  !!

I agree with XD Patrol... I think there may be connection with BadCat's skunkworks and the Admiral news slated for Sunday:
(from BATCAT) "TBA Sunday, February 11th, somewhere at the New York Toy Fair . . . .

More details to follow . . . . . ."
As AT has just announced two Navy aircraft, I'll bet this time it'll be something else: USAAF, USAF, foreign?

We all have our wish list. But you have to think about the Toy Co. They would not put a model out there that expensive and cater to us die hards. They are after the masses. What is a plane that everybody knows about? Who has the big bucks? Not kids ,adults. Most adults (older) think of WW2 some (not so old) are in the Nam era. If the older set wants to open there wallets they would go for ?????????? A B-25  for reasons stated before. The Nam guys ???????? a F-4
But whwn the F-16 and F-18 came out they were fetching the $100 and the prices are still up there in the $80's so if people will shell out that kind of money the logical step up would be the Tomcat. If so I will cry.

Yeah, $140 is pretty high in my book. From a collectability standpoint, that hurts in a big way. Let's say you want to sell it on EBay sometime in the future. If you pay a lot of money up front, the value won't climb all that much and people only have so much money to spend. So, the plane sits on E-Bay. Now, if you look at the current price point of $40-$65, that is a different story. People are willing to go up to $100 or so without a problem. $140 is a tough start! I'm not a scalper, but I do like the idea of appreciation in my collection. I know that if I pay $140 for a plane, it will be tough to get that back sometime in the future. Like I said, this plane would have to be something really special. Watch, (screen flips) "Damn, I had to get 2!"

What could it be? IMO, maybe an A-10, F-4, F-14, F-15 or B-25.

What would I not think twice about dropping $140 clams on? All of the above.

Just remember guys, its not the $140 price tag that hurts, its the automatic boot in the a$$ from the wife because you spent the $140.

Thats OK, having a new F-14 or A-10 patrolling the airspace in my house will make me feel better.

Teamski:

You don't think you can get big money for a $140 plane, if you resell it?

Seen any 1/6 WSC's lately on eBay? They go for anywhere from $250 up to $500. They were practically giving the WSC's away at TRU to move them. Keep anything long enough and you'll get your money back..

You can easily make a decent return on a $140 plane, especially something with as great a name recognition as a B-25. Just everybody knows the B-25.......people who wouldn't know a Blackbird or even a Mossie, from a crate of oranges would instantly recognize the beautiful B-25.

Come on B-25....

I have White Scout Car sitting on my family room floor. It is loaded with 21st 1/6 guys stacked like cord-wood...

I hope the new $140 thing is a set of five 21stCentury 1:32 Avengers, each in a different scheme...

I love 1:18 but I just have so much space to work with here...

Skunk Works could very well mean that it was developed in secret. It does not necessarily have to be a Lockheed product.

Let’s not forget the possibility of a B-17 being developed. The coveted Holy grail of 1:18 aircraft.

$140.00 is Bad Cats initial preorder price. Normal market price should be higher still.
The largest 1:18 to date.
It needs to be a popular aircraft recognized by the public.
It needs to have a lot of repaint possibility.

Remember… right now the largest 1:18 aircraft is the Hornet & Avenger which can be had for around $80.00 & $70.00 respectively. Imagine what could be had if you double the price.
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

I hope its not an SR-71. That would be the only plane in 1/18 I would pay that much for. But dang, that would be awesome.

I think it mught be any of these if AT is behind BCA , F-4, F-14, F-15, F-22 mig-29, Su-27.
But then again who knows what it will be, except BCA.

It will be really cool to see the 1/18 SR71, displayed on a JetSki trailer, yet.

What an impressive bird that would be!

I'm thinking it's bbi, WWII, and either a B-25 or a B-17 (less likely). Either one is relatively large, complicated, and likely to sell well even at $140 or more. But whatever it turns out to be, I think it's going to blow away everything we've seen so far from 21C, AT, or bbi.

Even though it is almost certain that it will be a plane, I wish it was either armor or better some kind of 1/18 Surface ship!! of WWII...that would definetely be something!!!

I've come to think that whatever the new plane is its going to be a modern era one. The Dauntless was strictly WWII. The Skyraider was used in Korea, and Vietnam. If we are going by progression Gulf War and Modern would be the next logical step. I would elimate the most modern fighters like the F-22 and F-35 because they haven't even been deployed yet and haven't had the chance to develop a following. That leaves an RF-4, F-15C, F-15E, F-14, F-18 (already Produced), AV-8 (?) Harrier, A-10, or one of the Allied Fighters from Britain or France though I don't feel there is a real chance of these being made since its a risky investment in time and money.
