I'm still holding out for Pacific also. I know that will be worth the wait.

2nd wave of BOB figs found

Post by markecho » Sat Jan 13, 2007 4:41 pm

OOOPs This it posted in the wrong section! Sorry - if an admin/moderator sees this please feel free to move it.

Was able to find the remaining of the new BOB. Had to pass on the DAK officer and German infantry with coat - paint ops were deal breakers...almost passed on the German officer too because his color seemed off and when I got home and compared to the other german (from the same series) the officer looked more greenish. Oh well at least got another head, and officer had and coat. Can just pop that stuff on Fritzen's body.

Funny that the Pvt Clyde got a promotion to SGT and just noticed that the tank commander is a corporal..heh! But easy fix! Parts are much easier to interchange ...but not with previous figs (as previously stated..that is a bummer). Also they made the new tankers waist a little taller so you can seat the figures without having to remove the accesories on the belt (something that the previous BOB figs could not do) - just wish these new belt accesories were painted more olive drab.

Poses aren't the best but you can see they can sit with the accessories attached.

I finally found Avengers in SE MI. The Howell supercenter has 10 left at $35 and another store less than 10 miles away in New Hudson has 8 still at full price.

Yeah, I spotted these at both stores about a week or so ago at $49. Pretty sure I mentioned it on one of the boards here at that time. Same trip was when I found the new 1/32 playsets with the mortar teams and priests. Now that the Avengers are $35 I may have to pick one up. Did they still have any 1/18 armor at Howell?

Yeah, if they have any deals on armor, please let me know (and which store). I may need to take a 2 hour road trip, since the only armor to be found around here, clearance or not, is the old stuff.

My good fried called me lat week fronm Denver and is sending me some Avengers that he bought from Wal-Mart for only $10.00 a piece. I got three. Here in OK, they are down to $20.00. I got two more. Now I have a whole squadron of Atlantic Avengers. Now it is time for me to renumber them. It is strange because the Mig-15 and F-86 are much smaller and they go for $30.00.

I forgot to state that all of the armor are $13.00 as well. All of this (the planes and armor) were found at the Dell City - Tinker AFB location.

The $35 dollar range has them moving in my area.
The two stores around her that had 10+ last week not have about 4 each. Both stores removed the ones with missing parts and busted boxes.

Still a few Mig 15 sitting on the clearance aisle at full price.

Also one store had about 4 Me 109's with yellow tulip front and now the same boxes popped up at a different WM 6 miles away.

My local WM just reduced their clearance toys in HALF!
They had Avengers the other day down to 35.00 - now there are NONE!
I bet they were cut down to 17.50 each they got snagged!
We had snow here yesterday and I really didn't want to get out.
I am kicking myself now!

I was able to get some 1/32 vehicle double packs for 7.50 each and a Navy Seal jeep for 6.50

I hate it when I miss a GREAT sale!

I got the full set of flight 19 on my doorstep today! I have already assembled number 3 and 117. The flight 19 production planes are AWESOME!

1. the color of the plane stayed exactly as my pre-production paint sample and the overall flat blue gray is nice!

2. Stencils are great and there are over 40 locations overall.

3. The box art is really cool and looks great in person.

4. Aliens! These guys are pretty sweet for a throw in extra. Head moves and arms move. The alien comes in Red glitter type color uniform and skin tones or a Green glitter type uniform with green skin tones.
number 3 had the red guy and number 117 had the green type. They fit really well in the green house just behind the pilot in the radio area.

5. The planes had all the screw caps

6. The flight 19 are the first avengers to have the radio mast added to the green house section! It looks great and was a nice add on to the model.

7. Wings fold are equal or slightly superior to my atlantic avenger though I think each one must be just slighty different from each individual plane I guess... too many moving parts ya know.

We can only hope! And hope that the quantity is enough to make sure that those who want one can get one WITHOUT flooding the market so bad that they have to do massive markdowns. Don't get me wrong, a $35 Avenger was pretty awesome, but I also want Walmart to keep the idea of larger planes at a higher price point alive!!!
