new 1:18 figures from 21st
Nice! Great to see a camo smock german at last. Long overdue and the cap that comes with the 'parade dress' german is a very welcomed accessory.....been struggling to make those for years....they were very commonly worn in the german army.
Fourteen to go....there's gotta be a russian and a brit in there somewhere, doesn't there?

Yes, gotta love the extra helmets and the cap!! Oh and the fact that the camo smock is not part of the legs! (Now you can leg swap the camo smock german with the regular infantry and create at least four different guys in the field like the Dragon troops.)

I think the two new germans look great. I hope the camo pattern of the infantry soldier will be improved. From this picture it's hard to tell how the final product will look. I think the infantry soldier looks much cooler than this parade trooper. I'm not so sure about the head sculpts of those new figures, but maybe its just the paint job and the final figures will look better. Well, 4 out of 18. I'm looking forward to see the next pics.
i'm not exactly sure what makes the parade trooper a parade trooper. Looks like a regular german infantry guy to me.
i just noticed the cap isn't what i thought it was....it's the same as the panzer grenadier's cap, only loose. I was hoping it was a little wedge cap, which is sorely needed..

new guys
AWESOME. I love the guy with camo - and a Camo covered helmet which is so key. 2 helmets make this guy an army buidler. I'm with Aferg on the Parade guy - he's going to be doing some fighting methinks. I have 16 German parade guys already that came in a collector case and have spiffy unis.

Great!!!
Very excited about the new figures...!
Yea, big improvement on the krauts. Question, will the heads from the earlier series fit the new figures? What I'd like to do is take the heads from the earlier series and swap/replace these with the newer figures. With the limited articulation of the earlier figures, I simply super-glued the arms/legs as they kept falling off. If they are indeed "swappable" I can build a whole new army.

Wow! I like those figures even better than the US ones. I thought the current BoB Germans were great and these totally blow them away. Hopefully these will be easy to find when they come out as I could certainly use both figures. Then the question will be what to do with all my older 1:18 German figures...

I like the look of the new German figures, but what is up with the short change of accessories? I would have thought 21st C would keep that going from the BOB2 line. Looks like the Range is the only exception. All the other guys seem a little light on gear. The parade trooper doesn't even have a bread bag. And these guys don't have the rifle firing arms like the Us one do. I hope the other are more like the Ranger in terms of accessories, but over all they look really good.

I am shocked with your statement. If you bought a 2006 Mustang (the car) would you throw out your 1966 Mustang? Of course, not! Because the older mustang is a CLASSIC!
The older Germans are the CLASSIC 21st XD figure (along with their US counterparts). Marvel at their simplicity and enjoy their uniqueness. If you can't enjoy them, pack them all up and ship them to my house!

No plan to get rid of them The majority of mine are the BoB figures, which look just fine as regular infantry soldiers with the coats removed and also fit within the halftracks well. Its just funny how 21c keeps outdoing themselves, no matter whether its aircraft, vehicles or figuresRazor17019 wrote: Tman,

For Razor-
I have the correct answer to your 2006 vs. 1966 Ford Mustang question. I can speak directly to this question as I currently own a 2006 Mustang.
The most correct answer is... Keep them both! Without a doubt the 66 is classic and a keeper. But you can't beat the performance of the new 2006. It's got more power, better handling, and is more balanced.
So your point is well illustrated and I concur with your ideal. Keep the classic XD stuff because it isn't going to be made again. But for the purposes of pushing forward and enjoying your collection to it's fullest you gotta get the new stuff too!
BTW
Military XD stuff & Ford Mustangs are my drugs of choice! My wife dislikes them both!
