I like the all black P-38M night fighter, and the all orange "YIPPEE" P-38J. It was painted in its orange paint to celebrate the 5,000th Lightning made.

It's been a long road, but I am still in the game. :)

I saw a 1/48 Franklin Mint version of the "Yippee" it was pretty cool.

Man that must have been a scary ride. To bad for those guys if the gear would not go down. :(

I prefer "Marge". Just something about the most kills of an American ace in WW2 on the side of a plane....

I like the S1 version, with the D-day Invasion markings.

Of the 21st P-38s, I think Halakelea is the best. It's authentic and unique among the series.

I like the S1 D-Day P-38 among the XD planes as well. It is, after all, the one I own  The Haleakala and Putt Putt Maru P-38s would have to be my next favorites.

Pilot..."What's this button do?"
Wounded Soldier..." AHHHH!!!!"
I would hope there was some sort of fail safe to prevent that!

If you put on the right decals ("Wine Women and Song") the S1 D-day is probably my favorite, but it's a hard choice to make.

I'm getting tempted to shop for a broken one and turn it into an earlier version in Rex Barber's markings - then again, Lefty Gardner's air-show/racer is really impressive.
