I've been doing some studying of the A-10 ARF bird I have and the rest of the 1/18th fleet I have. Since it is the ARF bird I can't be totally sure of this but I believe with a little clever engineering it could be made to fit in the standard 21st Century box. First you would have to use a tray simular to the one the F4U came in. The study plastic one rather then the cheap flimsy plastic that most of the unassembled aircraft come in. This allows you space underneath the main body of the aircraft. There you would put the twin rudders, Ordinance. The fuselage could be broken at the point just past the engine mounts on the aft and the nose just forward of the canopy. The wings can be broken in to three sections and mounted with the fuselage like all the other XD craft. This is a terribly simplistic explanation and hard to grasp unless you have photos. So I think I'm going to try and Photoshop the idea. to see how it works.

Sounds good Jericoeagle1... :D Can't wait to see how it will look. I think it would take less disassembley and be more recognizable in bbi's F-18 Hornet box (be neat to see that done also), but anything will work if it will bring us the A-10 in 1/18 scale from someone....carry on... :D

Here's a link to an article about the 81st Fighter Squadron's (Panthers) A-10s recent deployment to Afghanistan:

Check out this video. You can see the heated path of the bullets from the A-10 to the target.

Not sure if any of you guys like video games, but here's a quick shot of an upcoming game for Xbox 360 called Over-G. There are several different planes available but this one applies here.

Here's more on the story where an A-10 pilot used his A-10 to help guide down a lost civilian pilot over Europe last year.

Military or civilian, flying or on the ground, A-10s have come to the RESCUE!!!! :D

Okay, I've been MIA awhile. What's the status on the A-10, anything new?

Hopefully we'll hear something someday......till then I guess we have to "wait and see"..........

Still keeping the faith.....I find it hard to "NOT" believe someone is working on the A-10 in 1/18 scale.....

Looks like someone flew a little to close to a military operations area....

Here's a video someone shot of an A-10 from what looks like a private plane:

Here's some pretty cool A-10 (as well as F-22) artwork I'd love to have for the tailgate of my truck.

Sometime around the beginning of this thread, there was talk about the A-10B (Two Seat Version). Here is a picture of the only two seat A-10 ever made. It sits at Edwards AFB on static display. Pretty awesome looking in it's own right.

I never liked A-10's, but this one looks great!

Everyone wants an A-10 and I want a Hellcat. I feel for you guys I really do but it looks as though you guys wil be waiting as long as I will be. I think we will see an A-10 and Hellcat when hell freezes over.

You're definitely not alone in the want for a Hellcat in 1/18 Mighty just as I am most definitely not alone in the want for an A-10 in 1/18. I do feel your pain brother, we just have to stay vigilante until someone listens and dosen't tease us anymore. Until someone will stand and deliver. With the recent release of the Avenger and it's selling price with all its complexity, size, and long development schedule, I have even more reason to believe that an A-10 can be done as well as a small Hellcat. There is DEFINITELY a big market out there for these two planes. Keep up the hope and as Kevrut sated: "NEVER GIVE UP!!!" We just have to keep bending their ears.....

As you said, with boardmembers finally finding the Avenger at Wal Mart no less, the big projects may be a little more reasonable :D
