Are these rare now or what? In the mood to get one but can't find.

Seems all the online retailers are out. I recall seeing only 1 at the WM's in my AO and was several months ago.

For about a month or so, I spotted several of them at various WM's. They are now pretty scarce and are quite costly when found on EBAY.

I lucked across mine in an out of the way Walmart a couple months back. The muzzle brake was busted off so I got a discount as well. All I had to do was swap the barrel out from a parts RC Panzer. It doesn't match right now, but that can be corrected easily enough.
So in summary, they are indeed difficult to locate. Good luck in your hunt.

So you wouldn't have been able to convince her that they are an excellent investment opportunity?

Double post. Forum seems to be acting up a bit.

Outside of when they came to my local Hobbytown USA store in early 2005, they never showed up at any of the Wal Marts in my area in central California. We have plenty of the RC Panzer IVs, namely the S2 and S3 versions now.

Now then, didn't the European version have the skirts?

Yes - that version has the skirts - I imagine we will get one with skirts soon..
That is how I found my PZ IV - stuck in the middle of a bunch of RC tanks.
I actually passed by it a couple times ..
