I don't know if anyone noticed on the BBI photos, but there are 3 new paint schemes for the P-51 (RAF, OLD CROW, and a Korea shark mouth)..
Sorry if this has already been posted..

The "RAF" & "Korea shark mouth" that you are referring to are the two Australian exclusives that were released late in 2005.

The "Old Crow" Is a prototype that has not been released.

Hey Mike... are we going to see Old Crow soon?

I don't know about anyone else, but I am not so much disappointed with what 21st Century and BBi has shown at Toy Fair as much as I am with the pictures that we have gotten from the show. Where are all the close up images of the various items? I wanna see close up pictures of the Avenger pilot, the Wittmann figure, and the new BBi Modern 1:18 figures.

I have some detailed "walk through images" that we will be posting all week so be aware that they are on the way.

The figure for Whitman is not at Toy Fair. It is with the Tank that is in China. Again, these products are "in the works" and close to ready or on the water only!

21st assures me that they have prototypes. New stuff is being developed but for several reasons this years Toy Fair was scaled back in it's "future sneak peeks".

But that is why we have AREA-21! We will be here for you when you will see the first pics of the F-86 and Mig-15 and other projects. Beleive me, Toy Fair DOES NOT represent what 06 will look like! More is coming... start saving!

Also- Whoever it was with the keen eyes was correct the modified 202 is indeed the 205's! looks like there will be a total of 3 of those in addition to the 3 202's! all that equals..... not much money left in the bank account!

I got pics of them all and they will be up in the next day or so!

They added the extra little structural bits to modify it from a 202 to a 205. They did the same on the Zero and the bubbletop P-47. Looks like a new trend for 21c.....excellent. Hopefully this will happen in 1/18 as well.
I'm not sure, but I think they already started doing this with their last 1:18 release. I thought there was a slight mod which made the 104 a G v. a C or something like that. Anyone?

I haven't compared a German F-104 with the USAF one up close, but aparently between the two, there were modifications to the tail and to the landing gear to make the German variant more approporiate to the G series of F-104. (See P-51s pictures below.) Then, there were also the modifications made to the 21c ME-109G between the S1 variant and all the rest, such as the antenna, wing fit, and rehinged control surfaces.

There is a constant yen for 32x stuff to be produced in XD. I saw the pics of the DAK guys. Man, they are nice. I know most of you guys are excited to have a second BOB line in XD. I think that a DAK line up would be a great addition, and maybe a chance to see some Tommy's from 21st.

Check out the newest pics on Area 21 - you get a good look at the Macchis and Zeros. They are really impressive for 1/32 - the green Zero with the weathering is awesome.

And I don't know how many of you saw the Priest in 1/32 which bodes well for us in 1:18...

That's right, the spinners should be more "rounded" whereas the Folgores spinner is fairly "pointy"..

Honestly, its not that "biggie" of a problem and it certainly won't keep me from buying them..
I mean, how many people are gonna know the difference between a 202 and a 205??? Not many, including myself... Obviously... :?

i'm surprised they didn't make the change in spinners with the other detail changes. To be honest, it does affect the looks quite a bit, in my opinion. The Veltro's spinner is larger, rounded and more bulbous, whereas the Folgores' is small and pointy.

I imagine most people won't care about the difference but it would have been pretty simple to make a new spinner, since they did the intake changes anyway..

Just returned from the Toy Fair (last day) with good and bad news:

Bad News:

21C thinks the market is over saturated with 1/6 and won't have any more vehicles for a while, if ever. They have attempted to improve quality and accuracy on 1/6 figures and carded weapon and uniform sets. The rumor of them working on a 1/6 Sherman is just silly. They may have made a prototype but they built prototypes of everything. Capital bummer. :(

Good News:

They are doing the 1/18 King Tiger and it's metal, at least some of it is.
My guy says it should, repeat, should be out Spring next year. This is almost guaranteed, but don't believe it until its in your hands.

The Avenger will have three crew members BUT the radio man will be glued in place, no room for a movable figure. The plane looks so good I almost cried.

Too tired right now from lugging all the freebees from the closing dealers back to my car. Couldn't help but think me and my daughter and her friend looked like bag people loaded down with shopping bags. :?

My 2 cents. I spend so much time examining the plane frames loaded with 10 planes each in such a short area, it could make me a plane guy out of me too 8)

Another guy ran the Abrams all over and denied any problems with their 1/9 guy.

The catabog shows their 1/4 line (Jeep and Humvee) for kids to ride on. Kind of kiddy stuff, won't please any of us, unless we have little kids. I'll be getting a Jeep for my grandcrumbsnatcher. :D

I can't believe the number of 1/32 planes out! I'm about to switch over to that scale and sell off 1/18. If it wasn't for the prospect of owning the 1/18 Avenger.....
