Hey Guys, no pictures yet but Im working the resin casting over that was made of the hydrospan. Once it is perfect I will make my final cast and then make the kits and full builds.
I am still taking orders for anyone who wants one.
PS.. I have the Ta-152 conversion kit and the Rufe conversion kit in the water

Sounds great Jon, I'm not in a hurry........just wondering.
That will give me time to get my Luft ground crew ready.

Hi,
are you still accept an order for the 1/18 P13a:
$200 for a kit (Plane, Dolly, Pilot, Decals)
and are you willing to send it to Germany?
Please let me know. Are there some photos of the content
of your kit to be find in net?
Thanks and regards
Alfons (abbadur)

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update with Pictures!
It has been a very challenging year for me in almost every since of the word. Those of you who are waiting for the Lippish make no mistake it will be done but my real world job has taken every moment away from me. It will not be like this forever though, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t think that I am like Jack who disappeared in the night with many peoples money. Those of you who have been patient will be getting a free Rufe Kit along with your Lippish. The Lippish is in the tank but getting to it is the issue. Hope you all have a great new year! Wish me luck!
I want this more than you know, it’s ironic that I worked on ways of making 1/18 aircraft that were not made for so long but now that the process and ability is there I have no time for it…

Thanks for the update Jon. Life has a way of interfering with the hobby and
You are nothing like jack. You've been a plus to 1:18 with your videos and your
how to builds! I know in time we'll have a Lippish P.13a, Happy New Year.

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update
This is back being all my baby. Those of you who have been patient will get a free gift for waiting so long!
Normandy - One full Kit - Paid in Full
Crazy Kraut - One full kit - Paid in Full
Tee Bird - Two Full builds - Paid in Full
Am I missing anyone?
I expect to be shipping these by Halloween.
This project has cost me upwards of $5000 and so many hours I will never get back it makes me sick. I have however learned how to make this stuff work. I feel like Thomas Edison only there is no millions of dollars as a payout. I have been called a thief, a fraud and threatened with a lawsuit. I am however persevering and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The Lippish will be done soon and will be a very cool addition to the 1/18 world. Following it will be many others.
New Pictures coming next week!

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update
I also pre-ordered a Lippisch kit (21 January 2016) - but I suppose you probably thought of that already, I've replied to the e-mail you sent. I'm really looking forward to this kit, and am sorry to hear about your troubles. Also, looking forward very much to other projects!

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update
Ok here are some new pics,
This will help you understand how I got it to work.
First make a mold of the parts, all one sided in 1/48. Then build a wall of Lego around your mold and higher than it. Then pour in the Hydrospan. The result is a sheet of parts with a thick layer of Hydrospan base holding it all together. Expand that and repeat it until Its big enough.
The Lippish body is in its final stage now, lets look at what I have been doing:

Dollys kits done!
The cockpit and pilot have been cast as well as the top so all we are waiting for is the bottom!
The Bottom is in its final stage,
1/48 model next to mold of 1/48 body (La-5 Cowling and other parts were also cast on the same sheet to not waste space/time/money) Next to fully expanded product ready for molding and final stage.

When ready the final expansion will be cast and a resin prototype will be created. Then I will shave down the inside alittle on both haves to save on resin/weight I will do the final cast and send out the kits.

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update with Pictures
Quite an interesting method. Does the hydrospan expand with precision? As in, can you get repeatable results scaling up to 1/18? Or is there variation in batches?

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update with Pictures
Yes the stuff is very uniform and every batch has the same potential (original size x 1.6) or 60% increase. The variable is time, because some parts due to their thickness take more time than others that are thinner you must be very patient and it can take a month to see a part come to size.flyboy_fx wrote:Quite an interesting method. Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a Final Expansion Complete!!
$180 of silicon just to make the prototype mold but it is done and cast.

Now I must do allot of build up, sanding, wet sanding and retracing of panel lines until they are hollow, perfectly smooth and line up together just right. Then I will make the final cast. I may have to pause and do a fund raiser by selling off some of my personal collection to raise funds for the final molds and all the resin I will need.

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a Final Expansion Update
I primed the top but that is as far as I got before I got the flu
I got a minute today to put it with the top on the dolly and stage some ground crew to give you all a sence of size and scale.
This will be a very cool model when done!!
More importantly Hydrospan works! So the best is yet to come!
