How many of you can/will build a 1/18 resin model?

Post by Jnewboy » Sat May 06, 2017 8:06 pm

I worry that this scale is dying off and as much as I would like to I dont have time to make full builds and if I start doing them in the future they will be much much more expensive as my time is so limited now. I am excited that I have an incredible partner now and will be offering these kits but I wonder in the end if there is even much interest in it anymore. This site use to be so active but seems slow now. I know my life has changed alot and Im not able to be involved as much but it seems like Im not alone.?

If they really ever happen for reasonable money I´m in for your described kits like:
Natter, Focke-Wulf Triebflügel & Ta-152 , me-110, the he-219, the Do-335. Also an Hs-129 w/75mm cannon would be impressive.
Go for it!! I believe there are many guys who like to built such big and impresive models.

I will keep building them as long as humanly possible. I love to build them, I have been taking on harder and harder projects to test myself and to improve. I will build for any who want one, or if in the end just for myself if the interest of others wanes.

The Hurricane I have been working on now for awhile, will be done soon for all who want one. Then we shall see what is next as I want to keep building items that have never been available before.

Russian Planes Mig or a Yak.
French fighter Dewoitine D.520.
Japanese Ohka.
Italian Fiat G.55 Centauro

And many more rares.
Also still many Countries land vehicles to build.

My interest is WWII, mainly German so as long as there are 1:18 kits being made, I'll build them.
I don't like mixing scales and for me there is to much of a difference between 1:18 and 1:16. I have
collected plenty of 1:18 to keep me busy doing customs but I can always make room for New stuff.

Anything is possible however Mathew also has to agree to produce it. Anything in 1/48 can be made into 1/18. I personally have always loved the Mig 25 Foxbat but it would be a beast in 1/18 but they did make an F-14 which is very close.

The Phantom is the only one I'd be in for. [or a Colonial Viper]

I plan on it. Almost done learning the software for CNC milling machines. They can make one in 10 minutes, I thought about selling as I have a USMC merc License and already do decals and Marks. We also have a 4 point 4D scanning box to replicate exactly any item that can ft into it, My 1st will be the YaK-9. I gave up on 3D printers

I'd love to do an Ohka, Mig-17, or Mig-21 in 1:18.

I would love to build a Sukhoi Su27 in 1/18. I'm all in if someone makes it.

If somebody culd make an Northrop F-5A,with countless paintoptions-ie US-Canadian-Dutch-Norwegian-Turkish- Taiwanese-Chinese- Vietnamese and so on.Scoshi tiger-If cleverly built, there would be a split just behind the cockpit to make a B (two seat) version, and then a slimmer ldg gear and different shape airinlets You have a T-38,(that just about every western jet pilot have his/her education)with possible painting of Thunderbirds diplay team as well.
I think this would be a very solid project.....just my two cents(Old RNoAF F-5b Crew chief)Daniel  (For a T-38 You woul also need to loose the LEX-es and the Dragchute compartment)

I have built a number of resin kits and conversions. If I had my choice I would want an F-4 Phantom. It's a beautiful plane with a lot of history and a number of variants. Paint schemes are endless since a number of countries have flown the Phantom. This is a plane that has been begging to be built since the first 1/18 plane was released.
