Flightpose stands and 1:18 Hueys

Post by jorod74 » Thu Oct 18, 2012 6:02 pm

Saw these on another forum to display Star Wars, GI Joe and even Transformers, but was curious if anyone has used one to display their 1:18 21C Huey?

I wanted to mount mine in a position similar to this:

just wasn't sure if it would hold the Huey's weight.

Thanks for posting - I've been wanting something like this lately! I bet it would hold the 21C Huey - it's actually a fairly light bird (compared to say the BBI UH-60 or even the 21C Cobra feels a lot heavier).

Personally, I'm looking for something taller - looks like these are 2.5" or 6" tall? I'd like something in the range of 12"-24" tall so as to put a helo at a good fast-roping elevation.

One of our board members -pizzaguy- makes very similar acrylic stands. Not sure if he's still around, but I bet he could make whatever you're looking for if the flightpose stands don't work. I've been thinking of asking him myself.

I'm still around. Work has been occupying allot of my time in the last few months. I have a "S" stand that could possibly do what you want. Flip the huey around on the stand and you have what your looking for. It's sturdy enough to even hold the blackhawk. Email me if your interested. [email protected]

Highly recommend the " S" stand.

Use mine for all sorts of different 1/18 models. :D

that stand looks great, pizzaguy!

yep, the Flightpose stands are only 6" tall at the most.
that's okay with me because i don't have too much room and i like the Huey to be close to the troops on the ground.
