sorry for the off topic nature of this but i know a few guys were interested in this plane. This is the Windrider Boeing 737 rc plane which is about 1/18 scale (1/18.6 if memory serves correctly). It's about 6 feet long and around 6 feet in span.

Anyway, the seller has free shipping on right now for the first 100 orders. They're selling about 20-30 per hour so this deal will be gone very soon. Free shipping is a savings of $85, so it's not chicken feed.

just as an aside.....on Windrider's home page there's a picture of their upcoming Concorde SST. It's going to be 2.75 meters long......about 9 feet! Works out to around 1/22 scale. Pretty spectacular. Will have operating droop nose feature.

Cost is expected to be about $300 plus shipping.

i bought the Lufthansa decals for mine. As to where to put it....dunno.

I'm probably going to get the Concorde as well, at some point. That's really going to be a head scratcher as to where i'm going to put it. But how can you pass up on a 9 foot long Concorde model??

i've been mulling over the idea of using my 737 as an aerial refueling tanker. The fuselage diameter is the same as the kc-135 (acually slight larger) and the cockpit profle and tail profile are the same as a kc-135. It's basically just a bit too short but otherwise not a bad size and appearance. The wings aren't spanny enough but also not a bad size.

I can buy 2 more nacelles from windrider for $60 (kind of an annoying price since i paid $195 for the whole plane) and easily graft them onto the wings to make a psuedo-scale KC-135. Custom up a boom for it and paint it up gunship grey.

I was thinking of using one of my f-16's to be receiving fuel. While it's overscale a bit ,and as such not a great choice because of that, given the underscaleness of the tanker, it's still the smallest jet i've got.

Not sure if this would look really cool or dorky, because of the underscale size of the tanker.

How does the surface compare to 21st century and BBI? I bought a high quality foam flyer (a French Raphael) and was disappointed. I expected the surface to be pretty flat but the bumpy foam surface was obvious unless you stood at least 20 feet away. If you are up fairly close do they have a smooth surface or are they obviously made of foam?

it's EPO foam, which has a different texture from styrofoam but is still quite noticable. I find it's not obvious beyond 6 or 7 feet, but it would depend on how sharp a person's eyesight it i guess. I need to wear reading glasses. If you want a really smooth surface this isn't for you.. I've gotten to the point where i don't even notice the foamy surface textures anymore. Just like i don't notice the join lines, screw covers etc on 21c stuff.
