Well, heres some pictures.

Image
they do come in three colors, at least the box says so.

Image
and the box and packing are pretty good.

Image
I'm not sure the way its packed how it was damaged?

Image
for such a heavy diecast the front undercarriage seem weak.

Image
parts that were loose in the box.

I hate to have to send it back, but for the it to be new from a vendor, I don't want to try and repair it myself.

Got some great news today.

We apologize for the receipt of a damaged model. We will ship a new out to you on Tuesday. We do not need you to send the damaged one back. Please keep all packing material and the model for the next 10 days. UPS may pick it up for inspection. If they do not pick it up by 2/24 you can do as you wish with it. Thank you.

Ram04

Sounds like a fair outcome to your situation. I received my G4 today and it was
perfect I'm happy to say. I had linked this thread to an earlier email with Diecast
country so they could follow the dialogue of the G4. Maybe it helped in resolving
your problem. I was satisfied with thier service so based on how they handled your
complaint I would easily do business with them again.
When delivered in one peice this is an outstanding car. I like the white color but would
prefer Panzer Grey.
Detail is excellent and figures could be custom painted to represent infamous leaders.
TheHun did an awesome job on his repaint and custom figures, which absolutly would be
a first choice too. All of his work is Top Notch.

Tanker85,

Good to hear you got yours with no problem, it was just luck of the draw that I recieved one that was damaged, they are taking care of it, I will have no problem ordering from them again.

The white really is'nt that bad looking, I just like the looks of the grey also. Thanks for the input to Diecast Country, I offered to send pictures of the damage, but I believe they had no problem with my explanation of the damage.

:D Great ending to your saga. I received a 1/16 Danbury mint 1941 Dump truck in marine green scheme
yesterday. Packaging was adaquate but the front right axle broke. The steering linkage is the only thing
holding the tire and hub on. It was insured so claim pending. Hope it comes out fairly.

Danbury Mint makes some great 1/16 trucks, but almost every one I have bought has an extremely weak front axle. Most broke just sitting on a shelf. I put a small square of foam packing under the axle to relieve the axle of the weight of the metal front end. It works and being black foam, it is hard to see.

 Sorry wrong description...Highway 61 truck not Dan mint. I was bidding on Danbury mint jeep
at the time of my response. Thanks for your support. Seller is really helping with the issue. TTT, I agree
about DM and H61 diecast, they are for display only and then treated with kid gloves. I'll post a resolution
in due time.

Question? Does anyone know what the small item is that is displayed with the shovel?? :?

Thanks

And my bad also. I was talking about Highway 61 trucks, not Danbury Mint. I have the Ford, Chevy trucks and the military fire truck. The Ford and Chevy both had front axles that snapped. I used the foam block on the fire truck so the axle has not snapped.

I do have a couple of 1/16 Danbury Mint Jeeps (regular Jeep and calliope rocket Jeep) and they are great.

3T
Those are the same ones on my list. The army fire engines don't come up very often do they?
If you come across one let me know I would love a chance at one. :)

Thanks

All these 1/16 Highway 61 military trucks come up once in a while.

http://www.phillymint.com/diecast/highway61trucks.htm

Has both firetrucks (Army Air Corps and RAF ) and the Marine Corps Dump Truck.

Like everything else, they get expensive...... but they do look good with 1/18 drivers.

BTW - When I bought them I thought $49 was alot of money. Who knew? :?

I got into them because my first antique vehicle was a 1945 Ford 1 1/2 ton Stake Body and the 1940 1/16 Ford had the same body. That was even before I got into military vehicles but it was a great truck, lots of fun, going to get burgers or to the foodstore. Who could resist it?

Nice truck TTT, whats funny is this morning I went to work and theres a duece and half in the parking lot, not sure of the year, nothing really old.

I did'nt have time to go check it out, but will find out who owns it.

That Highway 61 truck is very nice, may have to put that on the wish list.

well, after 5 days i still don't have a shipping quote for the G4 i purchased on Thursday. At this point i am totally fed up and have requested a full refund. This is the worst service i have seen from an internet purchase in 10 years. Totally mickey mouse.

well, i got a refund very quickly from them at least. A shame they couldn't have been faster at providing a shipping quote. Takes 60 seconds, i do them everyday. They reallly need to update their site and give shipping quotes at the time an international order is placed. I suspect they lose a lot of international business by not doing so.

With so much gouging on shipping prevelent on the internet, most people will be uneasy about committing to a purchase and sending money without knowing beforehand how much more shipping will cost.
