Zero coming

Post by JimBob55 » Fri Oct 14, 2005 6:29 pm

I disagree with all the advance notice for the PEARL HARBOR Zero

After all, the U.S. did not have the benefit of advance notice in 1941! With all this a notice we'll all have our F-18's ready for 'splashing some Zeros'!

(just kidding... I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve and appreciate the updates by BCA. Way to go!!)

I need Tomcats

Post by airforcecop67 » Sat Oct 15, 2005 7:52 am

Two Zero's, Two Tomcats

"Two Trophy Class Mitsubishi A6Ms in original condition, complete with all markings. I mean, they look brand new sir!"

"Eagle Control to Alert One, you are clear to arm, but don't fire. Throw them off, play with them, but do not fire."

"Why the hell are we playing with these guys"?

"Splash Two, Repeat Splash Two"

I love that movie......Kudos to anyone who can tell everyone what F-14 Squadron got a bit miffed about the whole thing though.
"When the enemy is in range, so are you!!"

I hope they will restock more Zeros because I didn't have enough money during the pre-order period and I sure regret it now!!

BTW, besides calling BCA to check, how can we check on all our pending orders and pre-orders?

You should have been given an order number. There might be a spot on their site where you can track the status.

I also got my shipping notification from BCA for the Zero. It should arrive Monday or Tuesday!

My 2 are current airborne! My LSO is at the end of the deck waiting, hehe....

Hilarious how Matt changed the caption of the truck picture on the BCT site to verify that it was completely full of Zeros.....

The Zero is here! I received my 2 this afternoon. It looks good, a couple of small things I noticed but I'll leave them for you guys to find. We've been waiting so long for a Zero you guys will be happy. I also received my Sahl and Hackl. I really like the Hackl. I took some pics this evening. Sorry about the lighting you can't see a few of details I was trying to highlight. Click on the website button below.

Wow Bruzzer, those are real nice shots you posted for us to look at, or shall I say...gloat over!
The Zero looks great, as do the BF-109s you pictured. Are those two your own custom paint job, or can they actually be bought as such? I think I've seen the white tail one before, but the blue 1 I've never seen.

Congratulations on your collection, Sir.

Great pics Bruzzer! That was a good idea to show size comparison with other planes. Thank you, Kevin.

From the pics looks like one of the flaps will not stay up on the zero. On the Sahl your missing one of the wing cannons. But what great looking planes, mine should be here the 19th. Thanks for taking and sharing the great pics.

Yeah, great pictures Bruzzer!!! I really like how the cockpit is displayed in the packaging. Very interesting. You can see just how diminutive the Zero really is. I sure can't wait to get mine!

The 109s look absolutely awesome!! The camo is spot-on. It's nice to see that what you see at a 21st booth in a toy fair is exactly what you get in the box. That shows follow-through to me.... kudos!

Now when the Avenger shows, then we really got something to talk about!!

Thanks for the pictures! I guess being in Nor Cal close to the BCA headquarters pays off! Mine should arrive tomorrow. I am pleased to see that the Zero has a drop tank and it sure is a small plane!

BTW, as has already been expressed, the new BF-109Gs look awesome too!. I really like the Hackl version and would order it, but must think ahead to future releases in regards to how I use my limited amount of display space!

Thanks again.

No prob on the pics, I figure since I'm lucky enough to get my planes early because I live close I can share.

I took a couple more pics of the cockpit, and how it fits in fuselage. I was worried I'd break something getting it in. It finally seemed to pop into place and I'm not trying to take it out . I'm not sure I like the gimmick. The cockpit is well done but I'm not sure why I would display it separate.

The new pic of the wing should make you wonder.

I really like the engine detail so I took a better pic.

Careful on the 109 the wings. They were really tight getting them on. I broke a cannon off worrying about not breaking the propeller. A little superglue fixed that. I have to say my last few 1/18th 21st planes have had great paint jobs. The 104's and 109 have been gorgeous.

me122172 wrote:Um, why would we buy the whole plane and then display the cockpit by itself :?: Don't get me wrong it is a novel idea but how many times are you really going to take the wings off to get to the cockpit.
This is a good point - aside from the novelty of the cockpit, is there anything noteworthy on this bird? The pilot looks damn cool but I was wondering if they "raised the bar" in any other fashion? Is it awesome because it's a Zero, or because it is unparalleled in terms of detail? Or both? :) Thanks!

On a side note: I didn't see the word "Japanese" anywhere on the box. Good sign for tru? :D

I still haven't gotten any shipping info emailed to me yet. :(
I only ordered 1 Zero. Maybe they are shipping out all double orders (this would be an easier way to thin the orders quicky) then shipping out the singles.

Here's to hoping it's this way anyway

Recieved my BBI Zero today!! What a beauty! The detail is truly outstanding. BBI did this famous aircraft - as well as our long patience for a replica of it - certain justice. At long last my XD Corsair has something proper to shoot at, and my future Avenger has something to defend itself from :D

Overall a great plane. I especially like the subtle weathering on it.
