Protoype Brick wall.
I made the first prototype brick wall. Everyone, let me know how you like this style of wall, the paint job, and the carving job.
I'm trying to figure up a price per foot. It is hard to say because making brick is labor intensive. 0_0 and painting it!!! I'm wanting to lean to about $20 per foot (Around 3 hours work for 1 foot). What would everyone think of that? Too much? (Be honest) I would like to make it to where someone can give me measurements and I will crate the wall for them.
I will also be working on stone walls and concrete walls.
I'm still fine tuning things, I will start on bunkers soon (They will be pretty cheap and look GREAT!).
The Mister T thing in French was just something funny I did. lol

The prototype wall was sent to me, so Flyboy added a little flair to it for me.Jnewboy wrote:Is that a Snickers ad?

I would like to get into the habit of sending out little brick wall samples or small ruins with customs orders I get depending on the price! You know, for something extra.
I will be posting a pick of a corner ruin I just made soon. I need to finish her up first.

$20 per foot is a good price. It may take you 3 hours to get it done, but for most of us without tools or modeling skills,it may take a complete day and it still will not look as good as yours.

Re: Protoype Brick wall.
I may be interested in some walls, can you make compatible brick rubble to surround the broken wall??

I do not know if I can make single bricks... I might be able to make piles of rubble but I will have to tinker! Good idea!

Flyboy, the wall looks fantastic! Your putting plenty of labor into it, you might want to think about making molds of your wall.
If you want to do custom work for folks thats one thing but if you want to make some extra cash that's something else. Whats your time worth? If you settle on one or designs and make molds, you'll have a quicker turn over and more time for other projects.
Your biggest cost would be the RTV for the molds, the walls could be cast in plaster or hydracal.
Anyhow your work is very impressive and not just this project. It's great to see the talent you have at your age, our hobby will live on!

Re: Protoype Brick wall.
I've seen some really amazing original work on this forum, but this brick wall is maybe the most amazing ever!
Honestly, I would not know the difference between this "prototype" and a real, battle-scared, brick wall.
Hats off...

I guess no limitations. xD I forgot how high it is exactly but I was just planning on making a set height for this particular design of wall. I can make ruins to exact specifications or photos. Just PM if your interested!Jnewboy wrote:Yes it does look great! you said $20 a foot but what about height? what are your limitations on height?
I can make anything you want! I can make dioramas to fit into a shelf, ect...

I was thinking remnints of tall manufacturing, (stalingrad type) lots of rubbel and tall brick portions (building corners) something that I can place my tanks going through for photos. I would be very intrested in rubble packs
