1/18 in My Local Airport

I flew into the Greater Rochester International Airport on Thursday night, for the first time in over four years. Was astounded to see these hanging in a lounge area adjacent to the luggage claim.

Ran back there this monring to snap these pix (I took twelve photos but for some reason, no matter what I did, I could only upload nine of them to Photo Bucket). I'd love to know the story here.

It may have come up before, but has anyone else seen 1/18 on display in a public place?

There's about 10 sitting on top of display cases at the Wings of Freedom museum in Willow Grove, PA. P-38, Huey and FA-18 are what I can remember.

Makes perfect sense to some aircraft memorabilia at an airport.

Pretty cool to see our favourite 1/18 warbids displayed though. 8)

The wierd thing is, it's not like I haven't seen those particular "toys" before, but they really did look impressive hanging there in that space. I wish I'd taken some wide angle pictures of the room from outside of it, but there were people sitting in the chairs and I didn't want to make them uncomfortable.

Yes, each summer at the California State Fair one of the counties (I think it may be Santa Barbara Co. -- can't remember) incorporates one or more 21c and BBI 1:18 aircraft into their county display <-- they were promoting the fact that they had an AFB / military presence.

I remember the F-18, F4, and P-51 models. They also had a 1/6 scale jeep or tank one year.
