Are these the same guys whining about AG charging around $100 for a KT?

And $99 for a Jeep?

By size alone, then the 1/18 KT should be $400.

And not too long ago we had 1/18 metal Gate Jeeps at $5 a pop. Wow.

before you guys go knocking on the price keep in mind it's an exact replica inside and out. even down to the wires/plumbing in the engine. the bars for the canvas top flip up too. the other offerings from the manufacturer are generally sports cars for the same price with far less features. and with the 21stC King Tiger it's just gonna be a big hunk of plastic with no interior or engine. this jeep even surpasses the FoV king tiger in detail

No TTT we are not

never complained about the KT price since nothing "official" was ever announced

I did have issue with a re-hash going for 100 though

but its all under the bridge since ALL-GO is ALL GONE

# 1 - For a super detailed model (from a sports car manufacturer), the pic of the engine compartment has a dopey looking silver hinge holding the hood to the body which does not exist on the "real" Jeep so I'd have to see more closeup pics of the engine before I am impressed enough to pay this high price.

And the machine gun mount first has a .50cal, then has a .30cal gun with some kind of contraption holding it level. What's with that?

# 2 - Do we have firm news that AG is no more? Just rumors from crape hangers?

I am all for a new 1/18 model of anything, even a lowly Jeep, but for $99?????????

This is great news. I know it's an issue regarding price but I for one am very happy to see more 1:18. I wonder what other jeep-ish vehicles in 1:18 they might be able to make if this goes well..

i wouldnt get your hopes up. I remember many years ago UT models, which was the precursor of Autoart, released a 1/18 Jeep. This may in fact be the same mold. It was pretty nicely done but they didn't follow it up with anything....so i suspect this will be the same.

Don't start thinking about Autoart 1/18 armoured cars or anything.

This looks more detailed than the UT/Gate releases from the past. I don't think that AA would follow with anything as they have a bad reputation of being slow to bring items to market. Also, while it may have tons of details, some may not be too accurate.

diecast cars prices have gone up. Autoart stuff a few years ago was around the 65-75 dollar range, now it's around 100-115 range.

Think of the jeep as a two for one. For those who remark about scale accuracy, some things just can't be done cheapy in a small scale, mass produced item. Schuco items have tiny hinges and stuff, but they cost around 200.

It looks like Norev heard the gripes about the AutoArt price and they will be selling a $59 version.

So, now we have 2 1/18 guys new to the military market? Any details on the "cheap one"?
Does the top collapse? Rubber or plastic tires? Detailed or any engine?

Inquiring minds want to know.

No clue on the detail as they were just announced. You can contact Jeff at DiecastAuto and he may know: [email protected]

But actually, I have been into 1/18 military since the beginning when I walked into a TRU to buy diecast and saw them hanging the blue nose Mustang (was it Laura Michelle?)
Bought it and a guy at the office wanted it worse than I did, sold it to him. When I went back, they did not have anymore. But I kept going back and seeing what new they had.

I have two 1/18 AutoArt die-cast sports cars, a BMZ Z7 and Jaguar XKSS. They're incredibly beautiful replicas.

the Norev will almost certainly have an engine....almost all 1/18 diecast cars do these days and that is what they make. The top won't fold down but will be removable no doubt. It's really not a bad replica. I wouldn't count on seeing more military stuff from either autoart or norev.
