1/18 Hi-Lift Jack?

Post by don » Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:56 pm

Hey, been awhile.
I'm getting back to a project that has been on the shelf for awhile and I'm wondering if anyone knows where I might find a 1/18 scale Hi-Lift Jack?

What is a high lift jack ?

I know that they have one for full sized 4 x 4.

Is that the jack that comes on the Panzer ,Panther ect. ?
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

It's that big jack, often seen on Jeeps:

I want to add one to my DPV custom seen here mounted vertical on the passenger side, rear, behind the gunner:

I always laugh when a guy in a Jeep Cherokee or something tries the Jeep wave at me in my Wrangler with my top down enjoying the sunshine. Hah.

The red Jeep belongs to my son's gf/finance. She is a Jeep gal through and through. She now owns two..... of course my son maintains/rebuilds it.

Gotta love a Jeep gal that likes mud.

Oh, my bad. I didn't use a pic of my Jeep 'cause the Hi-Lift isn't mounted. A friend is teaching me how to build a new rear bumper with tire, jack and fuel can mount.

Here's mine:

This one looks like it has Jeep diarhea.

I've gotta get a new softtop for "ours" (technically not "my" Jeep I guess. ) this year. When we got dumped with snow though, that was the most fun I've had in that thing so far. Beat even driving without the top in Summer.

Instead of Jeep diarrhea, it looks to me like somebody misjudged the depth of a stream they wanted to cross.

I know the feeling...... I've been up to my arse in water in my M-37 and had no option but to keep going with no fording kit and the exhaust under water you just keep your foot on the accelerator and pray no water gets in that pipe.... 8)

Speaking of water (boy are we OT now...) my son and his buddies love riding around on beaches... only problem is if you get stuck, and are alone, and the tide comes in......

Image

It took two Army trucks and a monster 4x4 in tandem to pull him out.

Great fun...... except for the cable that snapped and almost took a guys head off, whipsawed into the back window of the 4x4. Broke the window and smashed the tailgate.... scared the bejesus out of me but the young guys thought it fun.
