I found these two small pics here...

Looks like the lighting may not be too bad. I hope I can get one.

You know the pictures are small but pretty cool looking. I can’t wait to see full sized pictures of this special edition plane. Unfortunately she’s out of my price range.

Thanks for the link. I hate to say it, and I'm still holding out hope, but those spots are really pronounced. Damn.

There is an easy fix for the spots. A can of Spot Shot only cost's about $5 and really works.............Sorry, that was a terrible joke, but spot shot does work well around the house. :D

At least the afterburners looks real good. Very cool. They should release the special edition through retailers because many collectors may not be able to attend or even know it exists in the first place.

Also, having the name of the show stenciled instead of the carrier name is a real detriment to the increased realism afforded by the lighting. It's completely lame. Come to think of it, why don't they paint it in G.I. Joe colors? You know people would buy it.

Alas, those small pictures with the cool lights sure "hit the spot."
Sorry about the pun.

what about that oriental model- she's in about every other picture in the 2009 slideshow, I didn't notice any problem with spots...

I noticed that as well. Not to be too politically correct, but "oriental" is used to describe a rug - "asian model" would be the correct term.

holy cow....the spots looking really dark in that picture. So even the more expensive special edition ones have spots. Oh my.

I wonder if the custom paint job ones they'll do for $1600 will have spots on them too. Maybe they like the spots and think they look really cool.

Wow yeah the spots look even more spotty in those dark shots.

I prefer the detail on the Century Wings models where the paint for weathering or the like is usually just to bring out the panel line detail.

The blue cockpit lights are very odd.

It'd make more sense if they were a red or something

The cockpit lighting from the radar and TID/VSD screens should be a dark green if anything, not blue.

Wondering why the TCS lights up too, which is weird.

I wonder the spots are limited to the special edition version?

i doubt it......the special ed. was probably built at the same time as the main production run. I'm sure they're all spotted.

Since the model is already "plummed" that would be a very easy and inexpensive fix with the help of fiber optics! :)

I managed to light a 32nd Tamiya F-15E and F-4E (Cockpit primarily) with fiber optics for about $8.00 a plane, and that was many many years ago.
