Last chance for input on the boom. I OR make it slick and be done with it.
LET ME KNOW
Moulds are almost done. I have made some test pieces the FLIR and radome turned out great.
The Mini gun so-so. The rings do not line up I just made another attempt at it and we will see ho it goes . The amo cans came out great as well.

Yes I did. The center line one and the port side as well.paulpratt wrote:Did you make two different radome types? I think i see the older versin and the newer version?
Steele,
The mini is in 3 pieces already. The first cast I would consider a failer the sencond looked good. The 3rd is setting up.
All the moulds are done except the boom. That should be done today. The moulds ARE proving to be a chanlange as I thought.
The pouring is NOT as as bad as I thought. This is good.
I will end up using about $130 worth of RTV on this project as well as about 2 weeks worth of work until I get to production.

No for the molds only . Each mold is about as big as the box a bar of soap comes in .paulpratt wrote:RTV is the stuff used to make the molds? Or, are you using 130 dollars worth of resin to make the pieces? That seems like a bit much to make those few small pieces if it is.
When I did the P-36 , those molds were as big as a shoe box. That used over $450 worth RTV.

What I am going to do is cut the tube right off at the center ring sand down the stubs and cast the whole front and tip up to the ring. I think that this will be a good compromise. You will get some detail at the business end.
The hydrolic line WILL NOT BE CAST THE LITTLE SUBS ONLY
Here is the center radome with the FLIR.

OK Guys,
The Pavehawk is ready for production. Here is the long awaited price list.
This project was long in the making but I think that it will be well worth it. Thanks to you guys who have stuck with us.
First the fuel boom. $40
It is a 5 piece unit that will arrive as one. Because of the way it was constucted it will be painted. You will have your choice of black or gray.
Second the FLIR and radome $25.
You will have your choice of the centerline or portside radome. Both will be cast in black resin.
Third the M-134 mini gun set $65.
There are 18 pieces in the set that will be cast in black resin. This is for the exterior mounted guns. With the set you get.
2 guns
2 amo cans
mounting arms and pintels
cloth belts and rubber discharge chutes.
I have made the interior gun mounts but have not cast them. If there is more of a demand for it it WILL go into production.
Contact Matt at FOX HOLE TOYS for your preorders.
As always thanks for the support,
Matthew

I've wanted the internal mount guns since the beginning (already cut out the windows, but don't want the window covers). I'll take a GRAY fuel boom and the FLIR/Radome.
Will the internal gun mount be a little less as it doesn't require the ammo cans and larger external mount?
Phil

Yes it will be. I would say about $25-$30 for the 2 guns and the interior mounts.pcoughran wrote:I've wanted the internal mount guns since the beginning (already cut out the windows, but don't want the window covers). I'll take a GRAY fuel boom and the FLIR/Radome.

I'm late to the party, but this looks very cool. If I don't have any experience with customizing, can you estimate how difficult it would be to buy one and modify my Pavehawk? I don't want to ruin it fumbling around, but I'd love to have those gun mounts.pickelhaube wrote:Production is underway. Matt has them up on his Fox Hole Toys web page. Here is the link

If you use the exterior gun mounts you will have no problem what so ever. You may have to give up the nav lights. The clip on covers may go over the top of them but I do not think so. When I took them off of the master Pavehawk one side popED off with no effert and can be reused. The other side forget it. I had to dig it out. But if you can get by that vertualy no mod to the craft what so ever.fogger1138 wrote:I'm late to the party, but this looks very cool. The caps are made as well. I (we) forgot to list them. I can throw them in as a bonus for guys who buy the whole kit.Birddog wrote:Can't wait for the internal mounts. Are they going to be listed on Foxhole too?
How about the Caps/Covers for the wings? Will those be available?
Other wise I guess $7 for 2 caps.
The internal mount moulds were made yestorday. I cast the resin late last night and we will see how they turned out. The problem with casting is that the smaller you go the harder it is to cast them.
On the whole project the flash surpressure is the hardest thing to make. I have casted about 8 of them and I need too make the mold again because it has already broken down.

I'll order a whole kit when the internal gun mounts are listed as well. I want to place one order for all of it so it all ships together and only have to pay 1 shipping fee.
