Was at the TRU in Dublin, CA today and spotted some new 1/18th figs from BBI (Ithink they're new since I've never seen them before). There are 4 figures in the collection of US Airborne (Prowse-rifleman, Ritter-pathfinder, Marcus-submachine gunner and Burgess-bar gunner). The package says "now with removable harness". They looked 8) so I picked up a set.

Very cool! Glad to see BBI taking the figures to the next step and really giving them a multipurpose function. I wonder if they will do the same thing with the modern paratroopers?

Those are cool figs. The mae west's can be used on pilot figues that may not have them.
Very good eye to find these.

I got one of these weapon packs with the cart.
Attached to the cart is a string with green plastic attachments.
Anyone find this? Is it suppose to be a harness to pull the cart by a man or beast of burden?? (mother-in-laws excluded)

Haven't seen any down here yet, but this is a good sign that new stuff is showing up on the west coast first!

Found the new BBI Weapons packs yesterday and bought the one with the cart. The plastic looks very cheap in the set. And the paint apps are very lacking compared to previous releases. The ammo boxes have a black wash but the cheap green plastic still shows thru, and the grenades, shovel, and shells have no paint at all. They also skipped painting the cart handle and hooks - same green plastic look.

For $5 I can't complain too much, but it is interesting to see what good paint can do for lousy plastic.

Went to the Glendale TRU today and found the new paratroopers, I bought Burgess and Ritter. Burgess looks awesome compared to the 21CT version, Corporal Mansfield. :)
There's also a special discount on the Daisy June Corsairs at Glendale, originally $39.99, they are now marked $29.99 each. I picked up one and only two are left back at Glendale but they are both FUBARed.

SKY RAY:

Thanks for the info.

Two questions:

1. Would the SKU tell me if my local ToysRUs has it in stock?.....(the local ToysRUs is on the other side of town and might save me a trip if they're not in stock).
2. Would it be better to buy the new BBI World War II paratroopers now or would they be on sale after Christmas?

1. I've never gone SKU hunting before, however it should help make it easier for the store employees to locate something they are unfamiliar with by using those set of numbers.
Here's mines: "021105009361" and "021105009378", not sure which one is Ritter or Burgess.

Interestingly, there's also another set of numbers that are the same next to both of them on the gift receipt copy that isn't shown on the normal receipt, it says: "18629247120" on both paratroopers.
Hope that helps.

2. Dunno.

SKY RAY:

I ended up having to go to ToysRUs. As my luck would have it, I was looking for two 82nd Airborne paratroopers, but that's the only ones the ToysRUs didn't have----they had 101st Airborne, Delta Force, SEAL and British paratroopes, but no 82nd. I bought a Delta Force figure so I wouldn't go home empty-handed.

Well, I found myself in the morrow area today, and remembering stuka saw 12-13 bbi old crows there a year or two ago, I stopped by. There were only two- one in great shape, the other had every piece, big and small, loose in the box, and a bent/broken prop. I took the fubar one up front to see if they would almost give it away- aww hell no! maybe 10% off; so I bought the good one. They were 29.00

I nabbed the face paint para last night at TRU. The last one I wanted since 21st's face paint paras all had screaming mugs, and this guy doesn't look psychotic. :)

Love these guys, but I'm really afraid I cannot get the jump gear on them without damage. The concept is great, the execution just leaves a little to be desired I guess. I'm giving two to my gf's boy for Christmas. I think he'll love 'em! This is how they should've done these guys from the get-go. I wish we'd get the pathfinder with all his glider gear/radio stuff in this format. Hell I could go for a couple series of these...

Oddly enough, I have not yet seen the new para figures at my local TRUs. Just the figures from the last wave, like the Brit, Pathfinder, and Spec. Ops figures. They seem like cool figures, but I'm not in a mad rush to get them

I found a set of the new Paratroopers Saturday at one TRU and the handcart with weapons at another. Felt good to be walking out with some sort of purchase after such a long drought.
