COOL WAY TO MAKE PILLBOXES OR ATLANTIC WALL DIORAMAS!
I tried an experiment today.I glued several pieces of styrofoam to look like a pillbox. Then I coated the thing with Plasticote fleckstone(granite)
and it looks just like concrete!Put a few shell holes or tear off a corner and
it looks even better. This is a really cheap way to make bunkers.Be carefull
to spray light coats as heavy coats can bubble up.

I'm a legend in my own mind.
Yep, I tried this a couple months ago. I have the picture in black and white at the moment, but I'll post a colored pic later.

The last is kinda hard to tell and I think I need to add another layer of gray.

Can you post them direct to the board?

I've used Styrofoam for a few dio projects and coated it with Spackle and the sanded to the finish wanted. This does two things, first... gives a surface that can be carved or sanded to give the texture you want and...
second...if you use spray paint you'll have a barrier that won't let the paint eat the styro.

Some of you might remember some of my fathers work from a while back. He went by macvsog on the board. I think it applies to this discussion as he used foam core and title grout, then painted it in washes. I uploaded some of his old photos for you.
