New 1/18th Scale Aircraft??

Post by Folkwulfe » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:35 am

I just read a Bad Cat email newsletter....and it references a new 1/18th scale aircraft about to hit the market. They say it's from a major manufacturer and has come in "under the radar" from alot of people. Forgive me if this has been posted before (I didn't find it)...but has anybody got any ideal what they might be talking about? Just curious...

Here's the quote from the newsletter....
Finally, I've learned that one of the major 1:18 players has a new airplane coming out that has missed almost everyone's radar. They promised to shoot me if I breathed a word about it, so if you call and try to drag it out of me I'll do my best Sgt Schultz impression and insist that, "I know nothing!". I haven't even told the staff about it so don't try trick Cody or Matt into spilling the beans because they don't know what it is, either. But at least this will give the 1:18 fans something to look forward to later this year.

new 1/18 aircraft

It could be Admirals 1/18 Dauntless. Haven't heard a word from Admiral or MTS, who is supposed to have the exclusive on this particular version.
MTS don't bother to answer their emails about the plane anymore, guess they figure when it comes it comes.

My understanding is once MTS gets their fill then it every one else can get theirs.

Jason has had some recent post about the status of the Dauntless and even a little tid bit or two on the Skyraider on the Direct from the Source Forum.

MTS recently posted on their website, under the Dauntless pre-order page, that the second prototype of the Dauntless (I'm assuming it's the one with all the corrections Jason has told us about over the past month or so) has been finished and they are expecting pictures soon.
Go Ugly Early in 1/18!!

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

well the new plane is clearly a new plane that none of us have heard about because Matt and Cody would know about it and since the blog says they don't know about it it isn't anything we know about either. Clear?

So, something brand new is in the cards for later this year from somebody...

How do you quantify "major 1/18 players?" Does that mean AT is excluded? Pegasus? Hmm.

new AC

My guess is Admiral as it is too soon for a new bbi plane and Jason has been saying that if something is coming it is coming stealth. :D

I must say those AT guys have great poker faces because I spoke with them today and they weren't giving anything away.

My money is on small and navy - maybe something to compliment the Dauntless.

If Jason says it's stealth, then if that is taken literally, then it will be the F-117.

I wonder if this is that Me-109G that was speculated to be in the works by BBI a few weeks ago? But the sworn to secrecy thing, does smell like an Admiral product.... lol.
