Isn't the "Beware of the blast" text supposed to look like this or should the background be a darker shade of grey on this version?

That repaint looks good. 8) For that kind of dough, however, I'd expect the decals to blend in seamlessly with the background: http://skyworkstoys.com/images/795_DSC03628.JPG That "serial no." stands out like a sore thumb. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue with some of his models. I thought this ...

Wow! Sweet deal! 8) As to how it came about, I imagine someone must have been pretty desperate to sell his collection at that price. Either that, or a poor fellow kicked the bucket and his family thought they had no use for those "silly plastic toys."  (Well, there's a third opti...

Judging by the price tag on the P-51 repaint (and that's a 3,200 piece production run), a brand new 1/18 scale B-25 model with all the bells and whistles would be around $1,500 ($2,000 if JSI produces it). So I'd say chances of it ever being released are slim to none.

There is no way in the world that they can convince me that a $100 P-51 repaint would outsell a new Spitfire release at this moment! That might have been a factor 6 years ago in conjunction with Walmart. But as Allgo has stated they are no longer marketing to retail giants, but rather a smaller col...

So if this is indeed a 1/35 scale Tamiya model and, as surmised by Aferg, it's meant as "a pre-emptive strike, aimed at JSI, to discourage them from retooling the panther into a jagdpanther," does this mean it will suffer the same fate as the 21st, err, I mean Tamiya Phantom? Are we in for a repeat ...

Not only is JSI ripping off 21st Century Toys they're ripping off every USA aircraft company of the royalities they are required to pay. As long as they're not selling fake 1:1 airplane parts, I don't think aircraft companies (wether based in the USA or not) should be profiting from the looks of th...

Indeed. The numbering seems to have been at least partly painted on freehand. And the missing and mismatched screw caps... Somehow I'm more inclined to believe this is the genuine 21st article. At least it would be consistent with their infamous track record. That QC thing sure wasn't the company's ...

IIRC, TKO211 said their products will be aimed at the adult collector, so major chain stores would seem to be out of the picture for the time being. Of all the possible repaints 21st could come up with, yet another natural metal P-51D with nude nose art is probably the least attractive option on the...

This has been beaten to death already, but the F-14 was NOT advertised as a toy. (In fact, Bad Cat's Product Disclaimer for the Spotcat reads thus: "These large, magnificent aircraft are visually impressive collectibles, not toys.") Also, it 'sold out' in the sense that Merit sold out their allotmen...

There are people that are doing custom repaints for others. TKO211 has offered his services with pics for instance. I would think that a repaint would make them more re-sellable. They are worth the 250 you paid as many are keeping them and they have sold out of this messy scheme. A custom and quali...

Shouldn't Merit bear some of the blame for this too? :? I know they're 'just' the (exclusive) distributor for the US, but I think it would have been in their best interest to keep tabs on the development and production of the F-14, which they clearly haven't. Hence the Spotcat. PS: Oh, and is this e...

I'd take pretty much everything they say with a grain of salt. That's some insight the...

If you can (a) live with the spots, or (b) re-paint it yourself, or (c) have TKO or someone else re-paint it for you, then buy it. Otherwise, you could be stuck with a plane you can no longer return.

Bad Cats is now saying the same thing... DUE TO THE HIGH COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH SHIPPING THIS LARGE PLANE, WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ON THIS ITEM FOR MINOR FIT AND FINISH ISSUES. So basically all sales are final when it comes to Bad Cat and the F-14. Nice cop out. I feel for those...
