Re: Sd.kfz 251/9 Kanonenwagen

Small update. Got the basic gun cradle and ramp built minus details. Working 2 jobs doesn't leave me much time to work on models. Looking forward to building the breech guard out of brass and the detail parts. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk190/smittyrob/12-1.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/al...

Re: Merit 1/16 Tanks

They look pretty good, They look like former WSN/Trumpeter Rc tanks with the RC parts removed. There were people here asking why Heng Long or other brands don't make static versions of their RC tanks. Here they are.

Do they have working suspension, or are the swingarms glued into position?

I buy small scale hardware from Scale Hardware http://www.scalehardware.com/ and http://modelmotorcars.com/store/store_hrdwr.htm#hrdwrindex I buy tiny hinges and 6" piano hinges from Phoenix models in the UK, then you just cut them to desired length. http://www.phoenixmodeldevelopments.com/acatalog/...

Re: grey flak 88 have hit the states

Just remove the travel lock to the other side.
I don't think it matters, the travel lock could be positioned on either side, so the gun would either face those wheels or away from them.

Sd.Kfz 251/17 Schwebelafette

Almost finished working on the gun and mount for my sdkfz 251/17 with Schwebelafette. Introduced in 1944 in an attempt to combat increasing enemy air attacks. They replaced the version with the drop down sides which were costly to produce. The schwebelafette, "floating mount" could be fitted to stan...

Re: Sd.kfz 251/9 Kanonewagen

Nothing wrong with cheating in model building. Interesting method to converting the hanomag wheels, they turned out great. I will probably have to try using a paper models method as I don't have any spares to convert.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Sd.kfz 251/9 Kanonewagen

Thanks Pickelhaube, I use that method too, soldering brass bits together and turning them in a drill chuck. I made things like the hanomag crank caps, wheel caps and anything small and round this way. and your barrels always look great, I'd still like a set of those stuka cannon's. How do you make t...

Re: 1/35 to 1/18

Yes, I should have said, in Photoshop type in 194% to increase to 194% instead of increase 194% by it's original size.
The words 'by' and 'to' have a big difference in meaning, when talking about percentages
Again I was talking about scaling measurments and you were talking about photocopiers. :D

Re: 1/35 to 1/18

Yeah I guess, you put 194% in the box and I guess it scales it up accordingly. And I see what you are saying in regards to scaling with a photocopier, I was still talking about scaling from measurements. Like i said, dealing in percentages can get a bit confusing. That's why I dont use a copier meth...

Re: 1/35 to 1/18

As I said I don't know the way you do it on a photocopier, and I didn't think he said anything about that. He just asked for the conversion rate, I assumed for taking his own measurments. So if he takes a measurment from a 1/35 scale model and mutiplies that measurment by 1.944 OR 194% he will get 1...

Re: 1/35 to 1/18

No it is 194% 1/18 is more than twice the size of 1/35, and the results of multiplying by 1.944 or 194% are exactly the same.

5mm x 1.944 = 9.72mm
now
5mm x 194% = 9.7mm
the same.

I don't know about photocopiers but if you increase 1/35 scale plans in photoshop by 194% you get 1/18 scale plans.

Re: 1/35 to 1/18

Enlarge 1/35 to 1/18,......divide 35x18 = 1.944/194%
Reduce 1/18 to 1/35,..... divide 18x35 = .514/51.4%
