Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

I would be much happier if it stayed close to $100. :) I think we all have to give Merit a lot of credit!! After 1:18 scale left Walmart/ToysR'us and 21st century folded, its been through Merit's distribution, (pegasus X-1, V-1, JSI F-14 & bbi repaints) that 1:18 has been kept afloat. It's a big com...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

I seem to recall that when Jason from Admiral Toys announced that he was leaving the business, he reassured collectors that his brother Jim would be doing everything possible to release the Dauntless... and that they had approached bbi about the possibility of collaboration... This might be the Admi...

Re: BBI F-16 price increase

I'm among the fortunate ones who snagged an F-16 from Target.com. I don't expect to pay $55 bucks for one now! That was "spoiled". (Anyone remember Toys'R'us.com selling "donald duck" and "killer" P-51s for $10 a pop?) That said, $150 seems sufficient! Interestingly, wasn't Admiral's F-4 Snafu price...

Re: What was the worst item ever made?

I completely agree with T-man. The P-40 was a real dog. All the problems mentioned above, plus an absolutely flat wing, zero dihedral, as if they used a level.

I always dreamed that BBI would make a later model p-40 with their standard of detail. Could you imagine? ( or a later mark Spitfire).

Re: BBI F-16C Enduring Freedom

I was fortunate to get a wolf pack F-16 from Target online when they were going for $50. A couple years ago I would have labeled buzz over an expensive repaint..."hype". Now It's just refreshing to see anything. I really, really hope they do a repaint of the F-18. I missed out on that one. :hornet: ...

Re: B25 Mitchell Apache Princess

the FSK shown in the link above is about 1/17 and has a 48 inch wingspan. The apache princess is a tad bigger with a wingspan of around 53 inches.
Isn't "Apache Princess" the one shown in the link above???

1/18th Scale Dauntless? This may be as close as we get...

I recently visited the Naval Park and Museum in Buffalo NY. They have many great exhibits including a p-39 in william Shomo's markings and a Fletcher class destroyer the USS. Sullivans. In one of the museum buildings i spotted this Dauntless hanging from the ceiling. It appears to be Dead on 1/18, a...

Re: Badcat's 1/18 Wish List for 2011

I have to agree, an F-8 would have to be the first choice. It's a bit bigger than the A-7 but absolutely Iconic! "The last of the Gunfighters". An F9F! I can dream... A Ted Williams Scheme would add collectablity. I wonder how the HM 1:48th scale version is selling? Do you think Pegasus has it's eye...

Re: IXO 1:144 line?

I just received IX0's BV-222 in the mail today. It's a beautiful model, the fuselage is diecast metal and the wings are plastic. Best of all there are no zip ties or screws in the packaging..... Does anyone know the fate of the future releases in this line? I know some are being released in Europe, ...

It's really easy to see how these massive planes become 200-300 bucks! Honestly if All Go released an A-10 today it would be 300 bucks for sure! Well, so much for the $89.99 F-4....lol When Allgo starts releasing massive planes maybe we'll stomach the price increase...? JSI delivered an F-14 with f...

It sounds more and more absurd every time I hear that wonderful new projects are "waiting in the wings", but their future is dependent on the sales of a P-51D repaint. If you are spending considerable money to develop things like the King Tiger and the Jagdpanther, then make those new and exciting p...

The former 21st century, and BBI dumped their moulds and projects on JSI. If you were to see any large scale aircraft, I think you'd find it from a third party. BBi has said no aircraft in 2010... JSI will be booked for the next 2 years with the J-11 and the F-15... Allgo is desperately selling off ...

1:24th scale B-17

the b-17 is much larger than 1/32. With a 55 inch wingspan it's about 1/23 scale. Must be incorrect dimension quoted. Sadlly any of the prototypes are going to be way out of my reach. And everyone we see most likely means a toy that will never be produced... _________________ You are right Aferg, i...

What person in their right mind would support that? We are not talking about honoring warriors of the past now are we? While I don't think the Iranian F-14 is going to be a good seller, it's important to note that the paint scheme will most likely be from the Iran/Iraq war(1980-1988). Therefore, it...
