Thanks, I’m probably putting to much detail into it. At least that’s what the wife says.
It’s the top plate for the skid. I could not replicate the intricate holes with a drill bit. Looked like I had downed a case of beer before I did them.

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
It was worth the 2 weeks to get the parts. They look rough zooming in. Shapeways rejected one of the sets for something small falling off in cleaning. I had to reorder the set, which added another week. I think instead of molding the skid swing arms (pics 2-4), I'll have shapeways print them in a su...

F-14 Tomcat TF30 Open Nozzles
Bobb428 has asked if I could make some TF30 open nozzles. I plan on 3D printing one nozzle and making a silicone mold to resin cast. Is there any other interest? https://farm1.staticflickr.com/818/40252267895_397c65a753_z.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/866/40252268015_aa5e470f6e_z.jpg https://fa...

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
Been to cold in the garage to get any molds done, so I've been working on some small stuff in 3D. Couple more items and off to Shapeways. Be kind I'm still learning how to model. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4756/39935687844_b2b41e830c_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4612/38835305680_d9fb731d...

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
First full set of customer fiberglass casts are out of the molds. I am shooting for 25 sets (aircraft). First two sacrificial casts prior are going to be used for test fitting parts and instructions. In between the casting process I've been working on the resin parts. My priority is getting all the ...

Re: 1/18 FW TA-183 Huckebein Last Full Kit
It's been a while since I've been to this post. I have one full kit available if anyone is interested. $200 +sh. Money is going to fund the Me 163 project. PM if interested. I'll wait a week then try ebay. If you would like pics let me know. I'm not paying photobuckets ransom to get the images to vi...

As Normandy said I am working on the Me163 and have a 3D printed A4 in the shoulder waiting to be sanded and detailed.
Wish I had more time.

Hoping to get the fiberglass mold made next week of the fuselage. I am going to make a silicone mold of the canopy and cast with clear resin. Slow but I am making some progress. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4401/23544961668_97411e1a19_z.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4499/36727054893_527c4ff74...

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
Thank you for the input. Three things isn't bad. Mr. Bentley was kind enough to scale his drawings down to 1/18 scale. They have been huge help. I have been getting a lot of requests for stands, so I am going to take the opportunity to stock the war chest. I hope to be back to work on the 163 in a c...

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
Thank you for the compliments.
Norm, Thank you for pointing that out. I will confirm the canopy is close to the drawings. I had a canopy issue with the 183 project, so I want to do better on this one. I'm with you, the angle might be playing tricks.

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
Trying to use flickr now that photobucket has screwed things up. Can't get anything for free anymore  . After hours of sanding and filling I finally got to the point where I could add some panel line stencils. Few coats of primer, little sanding and panel lines. Then on to fiberglass molding. ...

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
Little update. I've been sanding, filling and priming for the past few weeks. It never ends. I think I'm about out of that phase. Next thing to do is cover the entire model with 1/2oz glass to harden the surface before detailing and molds. My thought was to do the same as I did on the 183. Offer an ...

Re: 1/18 Me163B-1
Got a new assistant in the work shop this week. It will help prototype parts before sending them off to Shapeways for the final print. I printed a sample of the control panel for the 163. The part is very rough, so don't comment on the quality. It's mainly for test fitting. Hope to share more items ...

Small Update. Getting to the Fill, Sand, Fill, Sand, Rinse and Repeat stage. May not be very noticeable, but there are hundreds of pits and imperfections that need filled. I purchased a 3D printer to hopefully print some of the proof parts. http://i753.photobucket.com/albums/xx176/pizzaguy_imgs/IMG_...

1/18 Me163B-1
Now that I am done with the FW183, it's time to start another project. I am working on this between work and other projects. I plan to offer them if there is an interest. Skyworks produced a kit a few years ago. I hope to produce a better item. I don't have any prices yet. Too soon figure that out. ...

Re: 3D Printed ALQ-144 Radar Jammer
You looking for a tall stand or a short one just to get the wheels off the ground?
I can do one that's reversible to display a take off/landing profile.
