Re: Star Wars Combat Assault Tank

Funny how it says "theirs $49.99". That "theirs" is likely Toys'r'Us as Ollies mentioned buying out the leftovers from a recently bankrupt retail toy corporation. And from what I know about that bankruptcy is that even at 70% off retail the Star Wars toys were not moving, so Ollies got a TON of that...

The radio man's port should be skewed at an angle. It should also be in the spot shown on the model kit and not right in front of the hatch.

Re: MIDWAY movie

For an example: Wizards of the Coast, owned by Hasbro, is the company that gave us Magic the Gathering. They have become snowflakes recently and have been changing the gender of characters in the game to please the Alphabet crowd or changing artwork to be 'female-friendly' i.e., cover the female art...

Re: MIDWAY movie

The movie industry courts China not because of cheap labor but for the number of potential tickets sales that huge population represents. Involving Tencent is a way of finding access to those sales but it also involves having them guide scripts away from stepping over the party line. Star Wars and o...

Well, you can't really compare 21st to Corgi and the like, as like you said 21st were toy-like...because they WERE toys first and foremost. The other were geared more to the collector crowd with BBI being the low-end of that spectrum.

Re: MIDWAY movie

I think the goal is to lock us into streaming so they retain control over the media and charge for every viewing. Disney has gone so far as to announce they are locking the Marvel movies behind their own service so you can't watch them anywhere else like Hulu or Netflix.

Re: MIDWAY movie

Reviews are starting to eat it up. Apparently with all the attention to detail on costumes and CGI vehicles, they forgot to write authentic 1940's dialog. One review said it would be better watched at home with the volume off.

Lot of money for a panzer not to be the proper shade of gray. Has to be much darker than that.

It's easy to have multiple designs for something that never existed, like elves, dragons, orcs, or super secret Nazi weapons.

Hope nobody sees this listing, then:

I guess it's cheaper because it doesn't have that vintage 'damaged box' look.

Here are some banana bumper pics, although you'll find plenty just by googling VW BANANA BUMPER This is the front bumper arrangement as seen from different angles to help show the basic shape of the over-rider. https://i.imgur.com/uGuishC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/aaqE2kf.jpg The orange set are reprod...

That's weird. My Maisto is different in that those vents were just engraved in the side and aren't separate pieces.

Re: July new items from Battleground - Long post

The overriders on the bumpers should be narrow crescent shapes; the nickname for them was 'banana bumpers' if that helps. The ones on the Maisto are the later style from the early 1950s.

Would it be easier to leave in the vents and just putty the crack surrounding it?

Re: 1/32? 1/30? Other?

Yes. This lot is mostly Tamiya kits. The figures are mixed in with several of the motorcycle kits as well as the 37mm AT gun, a Kettenkrad, and a 20mm Flak 38 which is missing the base unless it is buried in there somewhere. The armored car missing it's turret is either the ICM Panhard 178 or the Re...
