Re: 1:18 Alien with all accessories ready!
Nothing's been said on it coming out for sure even, but I think it's a lock. Someone in the company let me know they wanted to get this out, then work on USCM's to complement the line. If we're lucky they continue this thing full bore. I'm not counting on vehicles, but one never knows. Good USCM's w...

Re: New BBI Modern Figures
5 Pack of what appears to be all new headsculpts? Hmmm, I believe I'm in. Quality looks much improved, but with only minor changes. Making a squad for instance, keeping uniforms similar, colors similar, new heads but recycling other stuff... BBI has a nice formula for cheap, but decent quality moder...

Re: Is Kickstarter a Means of Getting Our A-10 ?
PH, Kickstarter type campaigns are really hit and miss... and while it's not prevalent here, in other toy communities they're seeing they can also get burned on them. A few sites recently were openly supporting a kickstarter for "hallways" of ships, Death Star, etc., from Star Wars. People pledged t...

Re: New BBI Modern Figures
The Our War guys headsculpts were definitely so-so, but I found a generic Star Wars figure whose head swapped with it... The AT-ST Pilot actually. So there's two sculpts, actually. One looks like Evegani Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins. :) With those heads on, those figures look much better, but n...

Re: New BBI Modern Figures
Saw those too... Interesting headsculpts, and nice looking figures all around save for the guy who's breaking eardrums on the mic. I'll pick up a couple of those. Looks like BBI's just resizing heads from 1/18 to 1/6 and vice versa. I dig that. Always up for some new and relatively generic headsculp...

Yeah this has me interested as well, mostly because laser printing water-slides isn't seemingly an exact science. This looks much more reliable.

Leave negative feedback for him, but ultimately you got your $ back and stuff... inconvenient yes, but it wasn't a bait and switch situation since you didn't ultimately pay for it. You could email him and tell him that's not your fault, blah blah blah, and threaten negative feedback and contacting A...

Re: 1-16 kits for Panze 4 ( Ebay)
It's quite noticeable... to the point I've become increasingly considering selling off all my 1/18 armor, which is quite a few... 3 Shermans, 2 or 3 Tigers, 2 Panzers, 1 Panther... Might be time to bail on one scale I think.

It's a small local museum, not the Carnegie, haha. :) They display local military vets stuff if the families don't know what to do with it, have local stuff about the flood of '36, or settlers and native americans from the area, etc. It's in an old school. His other choice was the Soldier's and Sail...

Re: 1/18 bombers
What do those typically run? My friend's father flew a B25 in the Pacific, and I was bestowed with the manual from the plane, a swatch of parachute silk which they all (the crew) took some from and had a note sewn onto them as a memento of their time together, and most important to me, I got his "bl...

Re: Ultimate Soldier XD returns in Lego Form
I agree with it entering an already tough market... As always there is Lego. Hasbro has Kreo. Megablocks which used to be the knock-off brand has jumped into licensed (and pretty damn neat) lines for Call of Duty, HALO, etc. They've got a tough row to ho as they say. But think about it... Hasbro, wh...

Re: Ultimate Soldier XD returns in Lego Form
Hmmm, if they do just figure packs I may be in. Looks like they're trying to innovate somewhat, but I'd much preferred seeing them go the route of mimicking Mega Blocks and what they've accomplished with video game brands like Call of Duty. The figures are more fun and interesting IMO, than trying t...

Re: Build a rama Joe base control
The GI Joe Headquarters and some other things may be available online as well, to incorporate and paint up. Just some thoughts. Build-A-Rama dropped off the planet. It's a shame because the concept's sound, but they didn't (wouldn't?) restock a LOT of stuff like the stretchers, the REAL sandbags (no...

Re: Playmobil goes WWII
I have sooooooo much Playmobil from my childhood. Loved western theme but mixed stuff into it from other lines like the Victorian Mansion. It is shockingly gorgeous with 1/18 vehicles and figures around it, seriously. I should sell my stuff off. I've got so much of it, haha. I really should just sta...

Re: The need to have versus the ability to display
I think all collectors go through this to a point... Sometimes it depends on how you like displaying things, or how you just collect in general. For me, customizing is a big part of my collecting habits, so building something outweighs my need to display it. I'd like to, but sometimes I just can't. ...

Re: Vacuum forming?
Like PH said, no such thing as quick vac-forming anything, haha. That's why Stormtrooper armor costs a buttload of cash. :P It's a neat, and not terribly difficult technique, but takes something of a set-up. I wired my extra garage 220 for an electric stove just for this purpose... and canning, but ...
