I know people in the other thread talked about an easier way of locking down the zero's tail wheel, but I just wasn't understanding the safest way to lock it without breaking it. I've never had problems with retracting landing gear on my two 109Es. In fact, I like the landing gear better because it's not as brittle and won't crack like the newer ones seem to. But that's just me...

I heard it was a weight thing as well. If you think about it, paint adds hundreds of pounds to a plane, and reduces fuel effeciency. Why bother with it for the bombers and escort fighters thousands of feet up there?

yeah, i'm still holding out for a repaint on that p-51. BBI or 21C, the first that comes out with a glamourous glen, will get my money...i'm disappointed that BBI hasn't come out with at least one other repaint. hopefully one without invasion stripes...
