I gather the reason for doing this is so people can rid themselves of worthless extras and get a new vehicle for free? That's pretty cheap and very lame.

Oh no, he's saying all four at that store were broken, but apparently they were all the same version.

As far as the mid-wing holes, I don't think there are any guns there - at least my White 7 didn't have any.

I didn't have a problem removing the pieces from the sprue. I used an X-acto blade like I used to with my regular model kits.

Trying to remove them by hand will wreck them for sure - those thin parts love bending.

Place the white first, then lay the black over it so that the white creates a thin border around the black swastika.

Make sense?

Went into Atlanta today to have work done on my car and decided to check out the TRU/WM/Hobbytown action. Nothing new per se - lots of the new Marder and the 38 but no new planes. Ended up getting some stuff I didn't have - the grey Opel Blitz kit for $6.50, an FOV Schwimmwagen for $10, the Jagdtige...

Finally was convinced to get a MiG-15 today. Suppose the $11 sticker had something to do with it as I usually stay with 1/32 models, but I already had the F-86 so now the set is complete.

Hey, the lengths we sometimes go to to find one of these precious items are hardly what I would call irrational.

But I will admit bias in that regard.

Finally got the second Marder (at the TRU in Douglasville, GA, for those of you keeping score) but all the WM's near me have 38's.

Unfortunately they are stickered correctly.

For those near the Atlanta area:

The Hiram and Dallas WM's have 6 and 3 38T's, respectively. They both have a handful of the new 1/48 planes, but everything else is old news.

BTW, those two stores are less than 5 miles apart.
