Re: Jnewboy Customs and Pickelhaube Customs
Sorry for the late reply - I'm only checking the forum intermittently. I also ordered a kit from you (21 January 2016). Sorry to hear about your troubles, and very much looking forward to this model - and your other projects!

Re: 1/18 Lippish P.13a New Update
I also pre-ordered a Lippisch kit (21 January 2016) - but I suppose you probably thought of that already, I've replied to the e-mail you sent. I'm really looking forward to this kit, and am sorry to hear about your troubles. Also, looking forward very much to other projects!

Re: 1/18 Hurricane
Hurricane Mk I had eight .303 FN-Browning guns buried in the wings; early Mk II had six or eight .303 FN-Brownings, and later models (Mk IIc) had four 20 mm Hispano cannon; the Hispano barrels protruded from the wings. The Mk IId had two .303 FN-Brownings in the wing, and two 40 mm Vickers guns in p...

Really impressive piece of work!!! I have to admit the Hurricane isn't one of my favorites, but I am awed by the sheer quality of craftsmanship on display here!

Re: 1/18 FW 190A - BACK OPEN
That looks very nice overall, and given that the gun hood is a separate piece, we'll probably be seeing the A-8 and/or F-8 some time down the line as well. One thing that does jump out at me is that the stance of the main gear is too vertical, it should have more forward rake. In any case, that's no...

Re: New Mig !!
Actually, JSI did announce a 1/18 scale model of the Su-27UB back in 2010; they even showed a test-shot (minus undercarriage, but with full AA armament) in PLAAF colors at the Hong Kong Toy Fair. So, molds were cut for a mass-produced Su-27UB, the model was just never commercialized in the end. As f...

Re: 1/18 FW-190A?
Greendevil41: judging from the images in the link you posted, you're doing an A-8, right? In that case, you need to decide which specific aircraft you're going to model first, because the Fw 190A-8 used at least three different prop types. The most common type is the narrow metal VDM 9-12067A; this ...

Re: 1/18 FW-190A?
During his time at EJGr. Ost Graf flew an A-5 and an A-4. The markings on Merit's model are correct for his A-5, which lacked the outboard MG FF/M guns - so this is correct. A number of A-5s was delivered without these guns, and on other A-type aircraft, the outboard wing guns were sometimes removed...

Re: 1/18 FW-190A?
The model gives a pretty good overall impression in these shots. However, as far as the markings go: during his short tenure at the command of EJGr. Ost, Graf flew an Fw 190 A-4 and an Fw 190 A-5. While the markings appear correct for his A-5, the aircraft in the pictures has the bulged MG 131 cowl ...

Re: Spiralschnause
Another purpose of both the spirals and the white segment was as a quick recognition aid in air combat for aircraft approaching head-on, allowing pilots to quickly differentiate beween friend and foe. As a result, these makings are mostly limited to fighter aircraft. This goes in particular for the ...

Re: 1/18th Scale Mi-24 Hind Will Be a Reality ! !!
Beautiful work! Actually, I don't think they ever stopped using the star on the underside - even the latest Mi-24PN/Mi-35M, Mi-28 and Ka-52 helicopters have the star on the underside (although the new VVS markings introduced in 2010 now feature a thin white and blue trim to the star instead of simpl...

I'm certainly interested! I agree it would be nice to see maybe some teaser pics of the kit parts to get an idea of the model.

Re: 1/18th Scale Mi-24 Hind Will Be a Reality ! !!
I'm all in favor of keeping everything as close to scale as possible - I like to have an accurate scale model. The troop compartment is really cramped - just have a look at the photograph here: http://www.comtourist.com/history/belarus-ukraine/photos-kiev-rodina-mat/page/6/ . However, I understand o...

It's been quite a while since my last visit to the board - this really looks absolutely amazing! My kit unfortunately arrived a few days after I left the U.S., and I won't be back for several more months to come, so I haven't been able to inspect it first hand, but I'm really looking forward to it. ...
