I can help a little, but hopefully boardmember Teamski will get on eventually. He's quite good at finding out this sort of information! The 1st series Stuka is not an actual aircraft and bears markings, I believe, from two different units. (Thats too bad as it looks so good!) Not sure of the checker...

The XD Winter Panther (same as the origional, just in a winter paint scheme) is currently avaliable only to small retailers such as Bad Cat Aviation, The Toy Federation, SBP and a few others. It comes with two figures (the BoB series German Winter Tanker) and the vehicle is of plastic construction. ...

I once saw the box for the Ultimate Soldeir version of the FW-190D-9 (not the Motorworks) and its description of the aircraft on the back was the most detailed I had seen for a 21st aircraft to date. There wasn't any specific note made about either plane, but the development and performance specs we...

I couldn't help it! My fingers just clicked buttons and tapped keys and - boom! - I had preordered the BBI P-51! This is all just getting too crazy! When are these companies going to go bust so that I don't have to drool over and then buy such amazing products? (I really hope they don't go bust, how...

Haven't ordered that one yet, but think its very cool that they included two figures. Sounds like they went the extra bit by making one the commander head and the other the crew head. Very cool! It seems that with these new German tanks at the small retailers and the new M113, that 21st is beginning...

Santa Monica, Ca. TRU

hey cmelt27 - Just went to the Santa Monica TRU this afternoon. There weren't any of the F-18s, which was disapointing. They had the BBI figures, new weapons sets, and a few AH-6s and Hummers at full price. There were the dune buggys in the clearance bins and an M1A1 marked down to $20! Though tempt...

Now a TRU is somewhere I can get to on the bus from UCLA! Walmarts and Targets are all a little far for someone with no car at school, but the TRU in Santa Monica is doable! I'll have to check it out very soon to see what good pickings are to be had!

I also like the beach landing scene in SPR. One of my other favorite scenes is the P-51 strafing attack in "Empire of the Sun." If you don't love the P-51 before that scene, you will afterwards!

Nothing New with That!

The Hobbytown USA store in my town, Fresno, California, has been carrying 21st, BBI, and Dragon for at least the past year!! They have the full lineup of current 21st planes plus some of the armor and all the 32x vehicles. I kind of consider this my private XD stash (the items sell, but not too quic...

They look reputable - having good descriptions of their ordering policy, shipping info and all. I've got to say, $45 for a BBI Apache is getting more into the "reasonable" price range and is the cheapest price I've seen. In light of all the new XD releases, should I or shouldn't I?? Naah! None have strangely shown up on ebay yet. Usually, no matter where new items appear, there is always some enterprising fellow that sells the new item just as its being released for 2-3 times what its worth. I only bring forth this observation because I WANT PICTURES and a product description!

Speaking of Decals...

Has anyone ever thought of making 1:32 scale decals for aircraft and armor? Many of the more recent 32x tanks lack markings to give the individuality (ie serial numbers and in the case of a couple German tanks, national insignia). Just a thought.

Very nice job on the Russian P-40! You've really got to send pictures your work to 21st Century! They could make you a modeling consultant or something like that. A P-40 with that (or similar) Russian paintjob would be a feasable repaint - and the Chinese should not have a problem with it either!

I felt rather guilty given that the price for the FOV T-34 (with shipping) was around $45.00!! To justify the expense, however, there were several factors I took into consideration. The tank is in many ways superior to any 21st 32x vehicle - it has awesome weathering, more metal in the construction,...

Perhaps BBI needs to do some more toy line research... The origional 3 3/4" GI Joe line failed when their designs got too funky and sci-fi-ish, many other similar lines have had similar runs. Star Wars has only lasted because of the story (aka movies) behind the toys and a very huge fan base. Don't ...
