Re: 【1:18 diorama】Battle in Tripoli
Our benefactor host, Britt, presents, maintains and finances this site out of his own pocket. I'm not that tech savvy but I believe using links saves a great many GB's of memory for a server to maintain. If I've posted pictures in the hundreds, surely there are thousands on here. I would think bigge...

Re: 【1:18 diorama】Battle in Tripoli
You need an online photo hosting service like Imgur. We can't post pictures direct to this forum. They must go through a link. Go to imgur.com and sign up for free. Post photos there kinda like you would attach to an e-mail. Then from your album, select pictures and then click on the link for forums...

Canopy masks aren't cheating, they're working smart. I would have used them too but even the mask looked too intimidating!

Re: Pro modeler 1/32 He-111
Fantastic! I had one of those kits but sold it. I was intimidated by the amount of canopy framing that was going to have to be painted inside and out. I'm at a point where I no longer have the patience or skills to do major canopy frames. I like the big scale but the amount of detail needed to creat...

Re: Conversion kit for 1/18 P51B
I have only seen one. It was many years ago and it was in the possession of Isaiah at the Military Toy Shop in Dayton, OH. If it's still in his possession it would likely not be easy to acquire. And, it's just a fuselage part and doesn't cover changes to the wing or any of the more subtle differences.

Collect or Use and Display?
This recent post has me asking the question: Collect or use and display? http://www.warbird-photos.com/gpxd/viewtopic.php?f=3&p=341158#p341158 These items offered don't lend themselves to being hung from the ceiling, kitbashed or added to a diorama. There are scale model enthusiasts who collect kits...

Re: More 1/18 Figure Questions
My head is spinning going through these figures. Sorted out the extra body parts German or U.S. (I think) Also came across a Hobbit sized tank figure that's got me puzzled. Did they just make some smaller to fit in the turrets? The guy on right is normal sized with foot soldiers. https://i.imgur.com...

I've bounced around too. Being an airplane guy, it was the 1/18 planes at first. Dabbled in 1/32 for the variety. Started to learn more and appreciate ground pounder vehicles thanks to this site. Like many, I started out picking up everything I could find at flea markets, yard sales, Craigslist, Goo...

Re: 1/18 Figure Questions
Dang Tman with your knowledge of 21st figures and other lines, you and Zack (TKO) could do a book on the history of 21st century toys 1:18. :) Some nice figures Axis. I figured one of you two would probably solve my mystery. I've learned a ton from both of you. Gonna go through some more and see if...

Re: 1/18 Figure Questions
Axis, the German soldier and the horse are both from the 2008 Hasbro Indiana Jones figure line. The German went with a motorcycle while the horse had an Indiana Jones figure. In the next couple pictures, it appears you have a first series 21st Century Toys XD German figure body with a head from the...

1/18 Figure Questions
:?: OK experts, please help me out here. Sorting through the years of accumulation in preparing to thin the herd. Most of what I have is lose and may or may not be arranged with how it came in the package. First is this German on a horse combo. It appears to be the Indy motorcycle driver on the hors...

Re: Schleich Knights No More?
The rock formations that make up part of the castle wall are decent sculpts but the monotone color wasn't realistic for rocks so I used multiple colors to give it different tones like real rocks normally have. I'm having fun with this stuff.

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?
I don't know if people have seen the pricing for the WWII figures but I hope it's not $25 per. I just ordered the new JoyToy Delta Force set and each guy came in under $20. Not cheap but just a few bucks more than some pretty simplistic mass-market figures out now (I'm looking at you TVC). It was a...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?
Some years back when I was going to do a scene with my Schleich knights and a castle I was building, I bought several of these skeleton figures to make a skeleton warrior attack like the famous scenes in "Jason and the Argonauts". I recall them being less than $10 and got a few odd colored ones whic...

Re: Do we really want new WWII figures?
Get 'em now. Prices are only gonna go up if dealers buy them in mass quantities only to try and make a resale killing after they're allegedly hard to find. We're seeing it now, whether the "rare" descriptions are real or hype. Even the old stuff on eBay is stupid high.

Agreed, new stuff is always welcomed but a 4" figure for $25? That's over $6 per inch of plastic. Assembling even a squad will be expensive!

A may need an intervention.... Just picked up two more BBi Legends warriors. They are superior in every way to all the Schleich and Papo offerings. The detail and paint is exquisite and the colors are dulled down to a more realistic sheen. They can make otherwise okay pieces look bad side by side. T...

Hang in there Danny! Forget the History degree idea as a major. That's fine for a side minor. Jobs related to it aren't going to be there in a sick society that wants to erase history and embrace their own decadent culture.

Times are tough right now for many on here that aren't old retired farts like us. They're experiencing challenges like all of us but may have job, school or health issues with family that takes priority over our toys and models. Life is uncomfortable in a lot of ways right now. Both time and funds c...
