Of course there were; don't you recall they built a bunch in the '40s to wipe out a plague of Germans?

Re: The Thing-repaint question
Unless the bits like the head and hands are removable, I wouldn't want to mask that off for spraying. I'd probably brush paint it myself or just start over.

Re: repaint King Tiger question
To be honest, that was a different circumstance as that method seems to be more about creating a gradient effect to blend similar colors, like a woman applying foundation to hide tonal changes or blemishes on her face. On something like the ambush camo, which was factory-applied and effectively hard...

If it was me I would just do an entire repaint rather than try to match colors and replicate the camo.

Wouldn't you have to make three mounts then, since those three guns used different mounts?

Oh, also the Mobelwagen had a modified upper structure to support that big box of shielding around the gun. Only the Wirbelwind and Ostwind used the upper structure as it came.
Just so you know.

Re: Flakpanzer IV Mobelwagen 3.7 cm
I would think the single-barrel 3.7cm a better choice since that was the production version. The 2.0cm Flak 38 was a single prototype.
I never understood why 21st went with the prototype for their 1/32 release.

Re: Canopy Masks
I have masks for some kits I haven't gotten to yet, but they are certainly easier than cutting Tamiya (or other brand) tape yourself. I have the Revell Ju 88 and that one looks like less fun than the He 111 so I probably will get masks for it. Masking canopies has proven to not be fun. Still better ...

Just got a Squadron catalog in the mail. Guess what's on the cover..... (hint: it relates to the topic....) Re: Wingnuts 1/32 Lancasters
Wingnuts WWI planes like the Gotha are expensive enough. This is their first WWII plane as far as I know( :?: ) : Supposedly it will be their only departure from WWI. It definitely was inspired by the work on the Dambusters remake but it was developed separately as the design work for the movie's C...

Re: 1/32 B-24!
So where are all those 500 parts? Interior? engines? Doesn't look like any of them are from molding canopy or turret frames separately from the clear pieces, as usual. :( Much of it is interior detail, plus two sprues are duplicated for props/engines and bombs. You can see the sprues here: http://w...

Re: 1/32 B-24!
I bought mine from a guy in Poland; $181 shipped. Even with the problems I bought one. The only real issue for me are the turrets which can be fixed enough to pass. The other things don't matter as much as it will look like nothing but a Liberator when done. My next big plane acquisition will be the...

Re: 1/32 B-24!
quite a bit cheaper than the 1/32 Lanc and B-17. Let's just say the B-24 isn't as accurately detailed as those two. If you're very familiar with the plane you will be disappointed in some areas, but to the casual observer and the '3-foot' rule, it looks just like a Liberator and nothing else. They ...

It has a tendency to dry up inside the tube before you've had a chance to use much of it. Apparently it is a flaw in how the cap fits. Other than that, it was quite easy to use.pizzaguy wrote:I ordered some Deluxe Materials Perfect Plastic Putty to try out. From the youtube videos it looks like a nice product.

Hey, here's the 1/35 kit by Dragon of Normandy's build:

Looks like it's not on sale right now. And it really needs to be at the price they ask.

Re: Panther G with Panzer IV Turret
Yes, they could have machined a new ring, but this was just a bizarre one-off done in the field so the gear necessary wasn't available. They had to secure it into place and obviously facing forward was the most useful position. Dragon actually makes a kit of the vehicle.I guess it didn't sell too we...
