If you go on the TwinPlane ( Triactus ) website and get to the 1:72nd scale Corgi section, you will find very good pictures of a FAA F4U ( AA33003 ) ) that may be of help.

An IXO MC-202 Repaint

As many members are aware, the IXO 1;72nd scale WWII fighter line was a mass produced affair, marred by many clumsy errors and short cuts designed to speed production and cut costs. One of the better models in this line is the MC-202, though it, too, suffers from problems like faint panel lines, bad...

My Desert Tank and AFV Collection:

I'm a big fan of desert armor and warbird schemes and make a point of collecting and redoing models that wear such liveries. Here are pictures of most of my tank and AFV models:[img][/img][img][img]http://i635.photobucket.com...

Take a look at the Hyperscale website's gallery. It contains a large number of descriptions of kit-makes, including many pictures plus commentaries by the builders. These include many references on color schemes. Also, the Wings Palette website, while slow and not terribly easy to navigate, has a gi...

Diecast Redos

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I like to modify ----or sometimes, totally redo-----my diecast warbirds. Sometimes this is done to correct obvious flaws in the way the models are rendered but I'm also into weathering and staining and frequently buy "extras" of certain models so I can do th...

yea I have tons of them for various 1/72. I was trying to think how to blend the white-wash over the marking for the Russian Front D-3 and keep it looking natural. I would go with small amounts of white paint, diluted about 30% with thinner and applied randomly near the markings using a small. bush...

The online seller, Aikens Airplanes, has a pretty long listing of FOV armor products, including many that are marked as "sold out". You might check there.

As I recall, the only Luftwaffe JU-87 that HM released with a swastika on its tail was the desert tan one ( HA0131 ). That is what is indicated on HM's website and pictures posted on various sellers' websites. It's an easy mod, however. A decal sheet of swastikas in various sizes can be bought from ...

I just received the latest Hachette model---a Mitsubishi F1M2 or "Pete" to the Allies---and it's a neat little replica with a wingspan of five inches. Here's a picture:[img][/img]

I'm still confused about the purpose of this thread. On the one hand we are told that the factory will not create its own line of diecast models and sell them direct or, I assume, via distributors. On the other hand, we are told that a 1:72nd scale line might be considered in the future. If the latt...

Hachette Japanese Warbird Models

As some may be aware, Hachette Collections Japan has been offering a new line of Japanese warbirds diecasts, via Japanese bookstores since last fall. All told, 60 models----including multiple schemes for most planes---are planned and 20 have, so far, been released. Their scales range from 1:87th for...

Hello, everyone. Just thought I'd comment on this new line of high quality Chinese diecasts. I feel that it's very important for the manufacturers to sign up with a reputable distributor who, in turn, will supply the product to trustworthy vendors. A recent unpleasant experience, involving a number ...
